love this bookcase!

"My husband and I love this bookcase! American made, solidly built, nice finish. We also didn't realize that it comes with both the glass and wood panels. If you are tired of the glass you can switch to the solid wood doors for a change of scenery. The size also fits into smaller areas and won't overwhelm your room. (At first we ordered the Faulkner because when we got it into our house, it was way to bulky and looked like we got it on sale from the Adams family). Needless to say, don't get the Faulker, opt for the Ainsworth. It costs a little more, but looks a lot better and is better quality. It also looks great with the new hunter trunk and side trunk we ordered."

Great Entertainment Cabinet

"I have two of these, one flanking each side of my fireplace. I search for HOURS over many weeks to find something that could do two things:
1) we will be homeschooling at the DR table and I wanted the books and materials handy (we have a Ranch style house with DR, LR and Kitchen visible to each other and squeezed in about 700 sf.) without looking cluttered. I wanted doors on it that you could NOT see through.
2) we needed something that MATCHED to put on the other side of the fireplace that could be used to store our DVD player, cable box, AV Receiver, compact square sub-woofer, my wireless printer/copy machine, copy paper, extra ink, DVDs, CDs and my iPod connector to AV Receiver (PHEW!). It had to be deep enough to fit all my components, AND...I wanted it to match the first cabinet with doors that you could NOT see through. It turns out that that was a pretty tall order.
I searched everywhere for a cheaper solution, but in the end, everything else was either too tall, too shallow or too wide. Requirement #2 made it difficult to find something to put all those components into and media cabinets were all short and wide (I needed it to be less than 46" wide) and taller to fit all my stuff and to provide symmetry in relation to the other side of the fireplace.
In the end, we got these when they were offering free shipping and I had to hire a handy man to cut out the back of it to fit all of the wiring from behind the AV Receiver. (CRATE AND BARREL--your cut outs for cord management is WAY too SMALL). We are very happy with our decision to get these. And I'm so happy that they came pre-assembled. The movers just came and put them right in their places, flanking the fireplace.
Two areas for improvement and why I didn't give it 5 stars: 1) The doors came delivered with the glass in them. I had to ask the delivery people to take out the glass and put in the thin wood paneling. They had to call to get permission, but they stayed and did it, which I thanked and tipped them very well for doing so. 2) the glass is THIN and it's NOT safety glass. I'm glad I switched to the wood though, because it's nice to have the components closed up and everything NOT visible behind the paneled doors, as well as out of the reach of my 1 and 3 year olds. We bought a signal repeater and attached it to outside of TV and then to DVD, receiver and cable box and ta dah! everything works without having to open the doors! The handles are also nice on the doors because if I need to, I can slip through a baby lock over them and keep it really locked up. Which comes in handy to keep components locked up as well as arts and crafts in the other cabinet, when necessary. I'm so happy with this purchase and they're nice looking cabinets that provide a LOT of storage with adjustable shelves and still seem like they're not too bulky because of the narrow legs and clearance at the bottom. You won't be disappointed. These provide lots of storage within a small footprint. Good luck!"
