Tate King Bed
A mid-century modernist's dream. Streamlined, low platform design is wrapped head to toe in a textural charcoal weave, treated with fabric protection and punctuated with retro button tufting on the headboard. Dark tapered legs take a minimal stance. Also stocked in khaki fabric or chocolate leather. Platform bed designed for use with mattress; no foundation required. Mattresses and optional bunky board available (sold separately). After you place your order, we will send a fabric swatch via next day air for your final approval. Great Design & Craftsmanship
"I have admired this bed for several years and always wanted to buy it, but had no space in my NYC apartment. I recently purchased a large house that would finally accommodate the Tate bed--so I bought it after a lengthy "infactuation". Now that it's in my house, I do indeed love this bed! Great fabric, great color (dark gray), great proportions, excellent quality, etc.. I'm an architect and extremely picky and careful with my furniture purchases--so the fact that I actually have no complaints about Tate surprises me. Highly recommended and it feels like this bed will last for the long run. Very, very happy with my purchase...go for it!"

Just as we Expected
"We purchased the King Tate bed in Charcoal and love it! Had it delivered and timing was better than originally thought. The delivery company brought the bed in and set it all up in about 15 min. It was a great purchase and we are very happy with the quality.

Modern style and soft feel
"Well made with no squeaks. Remember this will have a larger footprint than a mattress with a box spring. Quality product and great service. Guys put together quickly and seemed knowledgeable. We had a softer mattress and this bed made it feel firmer which I actually liked. Would absolutely recommend."

functional style
"The Tate Bed epitomizes functional design -- comfortable, sleek, and well-made. The charcoal upholstery is the perfect neutral in our bedroom and the bed feels sturdy and substantial in addition to it's stylish looks. We added the bunky boards which makes changing sheets easy.

Another great find at C&B!
"Let's just say I have problems committing to many things, including large purchase items of furniture. I have look for a long time until that right bed happened to appear. I purchased the Tate bed and loved it from the moment it was set up for me. The delivery men were efficient, polite, and thorough. The bed was set up with in a matter of minutes. Perfect bed for teenage boy

Great Bed!
"Purchased this bed for my son and picked up at the warehouse to save $ since I am out of the local delivery zone. First of all, the young man manning the warehouse on 3/2/13 could not have been more helpful or polite. What a pleasant experience. The bed is great & fairly easy to put together. My only complaint was that I replaced an older CB bed that had a much more "user friendly" slat system, this one was a bit more work. All in all, I would highly recommend this bed, it is beautiful & well made."

Perfect Bed
"I recently purchased the Tate Bed (King) and couldn't be happier! The bed is sleek and modern with a low profile design which works perfectly in our smaller sized bedroom. Other reviews have stated that the bed is squeaky but we don't have that issue at all. We have a bunky board which is great, too. The mattress is a little higher and the bed overall feels very sturdy and strong. Best bed ever!"

My Cloud~
"Bought this bed a few summers ago in Espresso and I love it. At first when shopping for beds I just walked on by, I think because I didn't care for the floor model color of wheat(beige?). Anyhoo, when I saw the swatch of colors it came in and that being a platform bed it was low to the ground (great for a shorty like me) it really sold me. The mattress was comfy, but don't laugh I had a waterbed before this and was a bit of a princess. So my husband was kind enough to add a memory foam to the top and now it's perfect! I love that I can sit on the edge and lean over and tie my shoe or don't need a ladder to get in or out of bed. We also have a small room and it seemed really silly to get a "tall" bed. We did opt for the eastern king, and I love the vast wide girth of the bed. Especially now that we have a spoiled poodle that sleeps in between us. ;-). The other thing that was really important to me was the headboard, I wanted padded and I like the low (that top is perfect for remotes or books) firm headboard for leaning back. This was a big important purchase and 3 years I'm super happy with this bed."

Great, if you don't move
"The bed looks really great, very stylish. The only problem is, you can't move without the bed creaking and cracking. Getting in and out, turning over, any other activities that happen in beds sometimes...they all result in a lot of noise. I've had the bed for only 5 months and I'm already thinking of getting rid of it. I'm going to try to see what I can do to decrease the noise, but I'm not optimistic. Maybe this is just the nature of wood frame beds?"

awesome styling
"I wanted this bed for ages, finally got it, and here's the good and and the bad. The styling and look is impeccable. I agree that the joints do loosen over time and the bed does have some creak to it, so it will need tightening periodically. The material (I got the dark brown- earthen, I think) is really excellent and seems to have stain resistant qualities. I would have thought it would have head prints or sticky fingerprints from my kids jumping around in it, but not so. One caution about a dark color- it will show dust and need periodic vacuuming."

perfect platform bed
"This bed is awesome. It's the perfect height (low) and very stylish. The stock grey color is a great neutral, and I pretty much modeled my whole bedroom after the C&B staged photo. Very zen. It also feels sturdy and is clearly made of high quality materials. I would definitely recommend it!"
