NO COMPARISON
"CHIP, SHATTER, BREAK...
I have posted two previous reviews on this item with Crate and Barrel. Both have been denied.
Apparently, I am not allowed to compare the glasses that I bought recently with the (exact same) others I have purchased in times past.

Since I am not allowed to speak about Luminac working glasses made in another country, I will limit my review to those made in the USA, which is what these are.
They break.
I have removed 3 stars from my original posting to compensate for what I am certain is skewed statistics."

Love these but be careful with washing!
"I adore these glasses. I have them in both of the regular sizes. I have now had them for 6 years and my dishwasher and my husband have beat them up terribly. The rims have gotten tons of chips. That being said after 6 years, 2 kids, and a husband who must throw them around the kitchen or something most of my glasses have survived and I am going to buy more to replace the ones that need it."

Too much time spent just looking at them
"I know this is a product review but I cannot help myself in mentioning the excellent experience with Crate&Barrel. The packaging was most excellent it looked more expensive then the glasses that came in the box. I almost feel guilty for just looking for a few inexpensive replacements. I now feel compelled to buy more.
Now to the glass it’s self. I had purchased a set Luminac working glasses now going on 30 years. A hand full over the years broke due to mismanagement. Looking for a replacement I did not have room for another dozen or so. Crate&Barrel are one of the few sites offering individual glasses for a reasonable price. So I bought a hand full just as an experiment.
The glasses turned out to be much better than planned. First they are thicker and make the original look almost plastic. Second they have that rich translucent green glass look; again making the original look cheap. I find myself looking at the glasses as much as using them.
If you have not tried this design there are at least two advantages. First they are easier to hold than a smooth rounded exterior. Second you can get your hand in it for cleaning. O.K. third they are esthetically fascinating.
After comparing glasses it looks like I will eventually have to replace the originals even if they are still functional."

Necessary purchase
"I had already purchased the juice glasses and had been given6 of this size. I love the feel of the glass and the facets make the handling of this glass easy and helpful if your grip is not the best. It is very attractive on our table and we enjoy using these glasses daily."

Great Product
"These glasses are sturdy and the lids do not leak (and the lids are dishwasher safe) I have used them to transport and serve smoothies and yogurt parfaits with no issues. The glasses are made in the United States and the covers are made in France. Great product at a great price!"

Working works
"I love these jars and lids. I ordered extra lids because I could. Lids have a way of getting damaged ... in the dishwasher and the like. I really like that the lids work for both size jars. The jars are perfect for fruit (lemons & limes) and leftovers. The small one is absolutely the right size for 1 can of dog food. I use them all the time. The very large ones (not on this page) are great for homemade soups, casseroles and main course dishes. You can purchase extra lids for that size as well."

Just the right size
"These glasses with the lids are just the right size for me to portion out my yogurt and fruit for a snack at work. I have been giving up carrying and storing food in plastic and these glasses are great for that."

Working Glass great buy
"I bought this for the purpose of using to hold my smoothies and it does great! I love I can keep vegetable snacks and other things and it makes the container look nice for entertaining but easy for me to store leftovers. I would by this product again, maybe even in the larger size. I suggest buying the lids because they do well. Other great positive it is made in America!"

Don't make them like they used to
"20 years ago, I bought these glasses and they were amazing. I bought them recently, and they are not the same--within 1 week, I had to throw out 3 of them due to chips and cracks. One other reviewer said the same thing. BELIEVE US!! I am terribly disappointed. This was a terrible waste of money--very very upset!"

Multiple Uses
"These 21 oz glasses are perfect for storing so many different foods - I mainly use them for smoothies and storing veggie sticks. They are well worth the price. The only thing is that I wish I hadn't put the lids in the dishwasher because they turn pinkish/orange after being in there."

very nice multipurpose glasses
"Love these! We recently bought 8 of each size to replace the plastic cups and tumblers my family has been using. They are nice, heavy, sturdy glasses, comfortable to hold and drink from. We used a 3/8 in hold punch (it came with an inexpensive kit for making grommets) to punch holes in some of the lids for straws - it worked beautifully for making a spill-resistant glass for the car or for the kids to use, and was less expensive than the acrylic lid/straw tumblers we had been buying! We did also get extra lids to keep intact, so the glasses can be used as closed containers when needed, which is a nice bonus. Very pleased with the product and with Crate and Barrel shipping (shipped quickly for a reasonable flat rate, and packaged incredibly well)."

Good for storing food!
"My family has used this collection for the past 7 years. The lids are awesome and great for storing leftovers of all sorts. Thank-you Crate and Barrel for continuing to carry these glasses. I use them in the refrigerator, freezer and pantry. Yogurt drinks and iced coffee are easy to mix b/c of the lids. Love them!!!!!"
