Marimekko Unikko Dusk King Duvet Cover
Designed in 1964 by Maija Isola, the Unikko (poppy) design has been the most popular Marimekko print since its introduction. Challenging the common notion of decorative florals, Unikko broke from tradition with its creative pop art interpretation in bold, simplified pattern and bright color. Reproduced in infinite color combinations over its 47-year history, the pattern remains current while symbolizing the free spirit of its designer and those who admire it. Duvet cover reverses to self, with hidden button closure at bottom and interior fabric ties to hold the insert in place. I'll take it
"I have loved this design and color combination for ages but have also been wary of the older Marimekko sheet fabric which was 100% cotton (good) but unpleasantly coarse and absolutely required ironing. Recent reviews have noted the decreased quality of the current fabric. Apparently there have been other versions of fabric that I don't know previous to the current sheets. Yes the fabric feels thin but is so much smoother and more attractive and does not require ironing to make it feel civilized. This is a such a joy."

Slightly disappointed
"I bought the king comforter a few weeks ago. I already had several Marimekko comforters, sheets, and duvet covers. What happened? The material is different this time. It is flimsier, and the comforter is not stitched through. It just has a few tiny, couple of inches long stitches here and there. What will happen to the filling after a few washes? Remains to be seen. Yes, the name is "dusk," but the colors are much "duskier" than in the picture. It is almost impossible to tell the two brown/beige flowers apart. They look the same color. All the colors look dirty, somehow, not well defined like Marimekko colors normally do, and definitely not like they look in the picture. Did I receive a defective one? The size is huge. That is not necessarily bad. What I hate, is that as soon as I received my comforter, the price went down by $20.00. I wonder if they would refund that money? Maybe I should ask them! By the way, I still like the comforter, just not as much as I have loved the others."

Pretty but Disappointing
"I bought the king sized comforter a little less than three months ago. Its appearance matched the pictures on the website. The cloth of the product however was very thin and with a shine that I thought would probably come out in the first dry cleaning (this was definitely not a fabric that could be safely washed without wilting entirely). Some other reviewers had expressed disappointment with the quality of the fabric and they were right. I decided reluctantly to keep it since I liked the print and color. I was immediately to learn that it creases terribly. If you decide only to take a nap of an hour or two on top of it, it will crease significantly. I have not cleaned it yet, but it already is looking somewhat like a rag. I remember marimekko cloths of some years ago that were crisp cotton with body. The comforter has neither body nor crispness."

Lovely
"My husband purchased the king sized sheet set as a brthday present. I already have the same pattern in black and white. I find myself using the black and white pattern more, as the colors go better with our bedroom. The dusk pattern is lovely, but is more subdued,
We also have the black and white "kivet" set of sheets. That also is used more, as I mix and match it with the unkko black and white set, giving me almost never ending variations, particularly when throwing in solid black sheets.
I would recommend the dusk set to everyone, lovely, but just doesn't fit into my Florida color schemes."

Disappointing
"I bought the Full/Queen Duvet cover and two shams. The duvet cover is so big I checked to make sure I bought the right size. My comforter is new and fluffy and other covers fit fine but it is swimming in this cover. It just looks sloppy and the fabric feels cheap... I won't find out until tomorrow if they'll let me return it."

Thin sheets
"While I love the Marimekko design, I was very disappointed in the sheet set quality. They are so thin I can see through them very well when I hold them up to the light. In all fairness, C&B offered me to return them, but because I had washed them, I didn't. The sheets are also a little scratchy after several washings."

questionable quality
"We purchased this set b/c we love the design and colors. Unfortunately, the quality of the fabric was an obvious concern as soon as it came out of the package. The duvet cover is thin and doesn't hold it's shape well at the ends. The fitted sheet has now split at the seam in a corner after approximately three washings. Definitely does not live up to the quality we would expect from Crate and Barrel."

Almost Perfect
"While I love the Marimekko design and the vibrant colors of these sheets, I am slightly disappointed with the quality of the fabric which makes me question how well they will wear over many washings. The fabric is soft, not crisp. I also wish the flat sheet was a bit broader. it seems to be just enough fabric with little to spare. For the price I expected a more generous cut."

Cozy and Bright
"Marimekko design never fails to please. Colors are bright and vivid and make a nice contrast with light blue walls and white curtains and spread. Comforter is fluffy and warm. I look forward to using it for a long time. My only concern is that the fabric doesn't seem quite as "substantial" as I might have hoped."

Finest quality and design
"Marimekko sheets are finest quality and this new design is a delightful cheery one for winter months. I only wish I could purchase extra standard pillowcases. For twin bed that I purchased, only one standard pillowcase comes with the set. I have written Marimekko directly to no avail. Love the sheets though - you can't go wrong with both high quality and artistry in design with Marimekko."

Beautiful!
"This is my third set of C&B bedding and I am still loving it. I didn't replace the "old" once because they are worn- I wanted a new look. Te Marimekko pattern was of course a big draw- it matches very well with the color in my bedroom and the material is soft. It provides a very contemporary look. Care is simple- put in it the washer and dryer - it comes out with no wrinkles and still looks "new". Highly recommended!"

best comforter
"After over a year of looking at comforters from many companies, I have found Marrimeko's to be the best by far. The material is high quality, color and design superb and it holds up so well if washing directions are followed. The comforters from other companies are not inspected, therefore, there are many issues with quality. I will continue buying this line. It is the best!"

"Love these sheets! Great color palette and fun print. Sheets are comfy and stylish. Bought the comforter too. Held on to the receipt thinking the pattern on both sheets and comforter might be overkill, but that isn't the case. Modern floral and colors make this husband-friendly as well. Buy them.
