Sensuous, multifunctional shapes with a pedigreed past are reborn for a new century. Originally designed in 1952 by world-renowned designer Eva Zeisel, this timeless tabletop art makes a comeback in a creamy neutral. Zeisel, considered one of the foremost designers of the 20th century, created sculptural pieces with rounded curves, arches, teardrops and wave motifs. Even the plates are a soft oval, just this side of round. Out of production for many years, during which time it became a collectors' item, this pattern has been resurrected just for us. Each organic, elegant piece is a masterpiece of form and function. Please note: This pattern is discontinued. When our current inventory is sold out, it is unlikely we will be able to obtain more. -High-fired English earthenware -Mug has been added for this new collection -Dinner plate has been enlarged for today's lifestyle -Dramatic specialty serving pieces -Dishwasher- and microwave-safe -Made in United Kingdom

Beautiful and Useful--truly a modern classic
"For a long time, I have admired this design from afar, and I finally registered for it as a wedding present. I chose it because of its timeless style, and because it could be used as everyday china and be dressed up for a fancy dinner. It has not disappointed. I decided on the mugs instead of the cup and saucers, and they have been very useful. I've been treating them roughly, using them on my commute, etc., and they still look great. The dinner plates and salad plates are sized right, and I like the low, wide bowls for cereal, soups and desserts. I was concerned that these dishes would be too delicate for everyday wear, but that has not been the case. None have cracked or chipped in the several months we have been using them and washing them in the dishwasher. The serving dishes are gorgeous too, although they aren't oven-safe (although I've put them in a 200 degree oven with no prob.). I am also happy to chose a design that I know will be in production for a long time, if I need to get more pieces. This set is a classic for a good reason!"
