amazing product!
"I love this purchase! I have been trying over and over to make beet chips and thin potato chips for the past few months, to no avail. It has been impossible to get a uniform width with just a knife, and then the chips don't cook correctly.
Since I bought this (very economical) little gadget, I can make everything that requires thin slicing in half the time it took me before. It is so easy to use, safe, and affordable... I would definitely recommend this to friends."

What did I ever do without this?
"Such a time saver and an excellent value!!!
I was a bit concerned about how sharp the blade would stay, but so far, it's as sharp as the day I purchased it. It does lack instructions, so I will add, for those like myself who had never used a mandoline before, the plastic piece that detaches from the unit is to use when with whatever you're chopping once it is too small and you're getting close to the blade.
I could not be any happier with this purchase!! :)"

Excellent Value!
"I've been wanting a mandoline for a long time, but was always put off by the steep price tag of most models (that and I have an addiction to buying kitchen gadgets and don't have a lot of storage space). However, when I was waiting in line at Crate & Barrel to check out a while back I spotted this baby. I was worried about the quality given the low price, but figured I'd give it a shot. I was not disappointed! Its been a lifesaver and has literally "shaved" minutes off of my prep time. I would highly recommend this!"

Easy To Use
"I love this mandoline. I find it incredibly easy to use with everything I've tried with it. Tomatoes, zucchini, apples, carrot, the list could go on. It makes it so much easier than methodically chopping every single thing you want. And it's easy to clean, and no problems with rust. I've add others that the blade rusted up really quick, where it just became unusable. I love the gadgets Crate and Barrel has. I think they always have great selection and really good prices."

Very Sharp Slicer
"I love this slicer and use it on a regular basis. Apples, tomatoes, potatos, zucchini, etc. it does it all. It's a time saver for making au gratin potatos, apple pie, and even sauteed zucchini. And although it comes with a food holder, still watch out for your fingers."

Really Suprised!
"I bought this thinking it would be "Ok" for a few things but not something I would be using much. Wrong! I use this thing all the time! Hardly ever use a knife anymore. From condiment trays to salads to sliced fruit for Sangria, this thing is great! Just could use to be a little wider. Large onions and oranges simply won’t work.
It seems to be constructed fairly solid and is a snap to clean."

It's OK
"This madonlin is good for space reasons and it does work buuuut, it's just not that great. This was the first time I've used a mandolin so maybe I don't have the hang of it yet but this just wasn't that easy to use and maybe it was the blade? IDK, it was just OK"

"This came in a clear plastic wrap/bag with no instructions. There's a plastic piece which I guess is a cover to protect blade when not in use but again, I'm not sure. Having never used such an item I was leery of cutting my fingers. But with careful use I did find slicing smooth. I have to grade this only 3 stars for lack of instructions."

Slices great!!
"I've made potatoes au gratin, apple pie and potato chips and have been pleased. The blade is sharp provides an even slice, great for even cooking. The only thing i wish is that it was a wider board. I wanted to slice eggplant, and found the mandolin to be too narrow. Otherwise a valuable kitchen tool."
