Works like a champ!
"We received this item as a wedding gift from our registry. The first one we had developed rust stains after the first washing, but CB returned it without any issues and told us that they had not had any similar complaints. We have had our "new" one for the past 1.5 years and love it! No problems with rust and it works like a champ."

A Revelation
"I've always used the box grater and I was perusing all the different microplane graters in your aisle and got two of them. I really love the efficiency of them, how sharp the blade is to grate quickly and just makes the experience of grating so much easier. Thank you."

Love this tool
"Great for garlic, Ginger, small slices of things for flavorings in sauces like carrots, hot peppers etc. Also good for small amount of cheeses. I cleaned it with a dish brush rather than a sponge or my hands and that worked well."

Perfect
"This brand of grater is top notch. The handle makes it so easy to hold while grating, and food never seems to get stuck in the holes like my previous grater. It is very sharp, so grating has become much more efficient. It is super easy to clean. I haven't washed it in the dishwasher yet, so I'm unaware of rust spots. When hand washing, i scrub from the back of the grater so as not to tear up the sponge, and if food isn't completely dislodged afterwards, I scrub from side to side on the front."

postives and negatives
"I really wanted to like this product. On the upside it is as everyone says: sharp blade, compact and easy to store.
However.
The negatives keep me from pulling it out of the drawer and using it more often. I've noticed others say how easy it is to clean. I'm not sure why! I first used it in the dishwasher, and it came out with rust spots all in the crevices. I couldn't believe it. So then I proceeded to hand wash it each time. One, it's extremely hard to do because the blades are so sharp - just use really hot water and wipe from side to side. Two, it cannot sit in water for very long before forming the same rust spots that appeared from the dishwasher. I've had to use a special cleaner to remove the spots. The other downside is that the protective cover is hard to maneuver on and off the grater. With such sharp blades, it makes this user uneasy each time.
If someone knows why my grater does so poorly in the cleaning department, please share! I would love to use it more often if that issue were resolved."

Ribbon Grater
"Excellent for grating garlic if you hate to mince. Makes beautiful ribbon grates of cheese to garnish dishes. Hard to clean (rough on sponges) since it cuts in both directions. Overall, super addition to my grater collection."

Great product
"This is my second set of microplane products. My first set lasted for 4 years of abuse, from a household of 6, until it finally started wearing out. Easy to clean, store well with the plastic cover. I just love Microplane"

If you only have one grater...
"This is the grater you want to own. This Microplane Paddle Grater is easy enough to use over pasta or salad when you want to grate cheese at the table. Or, for larger amounts, you can rest it against a bowl and grate away. Grating cheese is practically effortless -- so much easier than the four-sided stand up kind! This also zests lemon just right. I have even used this for chocolate shavings to add garnish. Clean-up couldn't be easier (I pop mine in the dishwasher). In addition to this, it's very small and easy to store. This is a good kitchen gadget to own or to give as a gift."

Can't Get Along Without This!
"This is one of the best gadgets that I own. I use it to grate almost everything. I even purchased them for my daughter and my sister. The gratings are just the right size and everything is even with no big chunks. Grate(great) for Pecorino Romano to nutmeg and everything in between. Once you use one you will wonder how you ever got along without it!"

Great Grater
"I bought the grater in a "Oh, I forgot, I need a grater" moment and was a little surprised at the price for a handheld grater. I almost put it back and I'm glad I didn't- it's worth it. Easy to hold and takes little effort on my part. And it comes with a plastic cover to keep my fingers safe when I reach into the drawer without looking. Because I do that. Love it!"
