Do not buy

"Under no circumstances should anyone buy what we received! It is lightweight, not aligned, and has pieces of it breaking off before we even tried to use it! poor deal - do not buy."

Well worth it...

"I love home made tortillas, and this press allows you to make the perfect tortilla every time. I'm very limited on storage in my kitchen, so I don't like having a bunch of gadgets that only serve one purpose. However, having this is well worth the small amount of space it takes up. Great price, very pleased with my purchase!"

It took a while

"received it as a gift from my daughter in law, It took a while to learn how to make tortillas, but finally did it, and they came out as the ones I remembered from my childhood, The product looks good in the kitchem countertop, and it brings conversation with my guests. you get more for the buck with this one."

Definitely giving some as presents this Xmas!

"Good (real) Mexican restaurants are hard to find, but gf and I love making our own tortillas!
Wheat or corn flour, salt, water and a piece of plastic wrap in both sides of the press (great advice of another reviewer so that the dough doesn't stick) and the best tortillas are on their way."

amazing product

"Thiss press works perfect, bought it as a gift for my mom, and she did delicious tortillas, she says it works as good as the one she used in her hometown, close to Jalisco Mexico. a word of advice, always use a plastic piece to avoid tortilla sticking in the press."

Mexican spirit is back!

"Great to make fresh tortillas just like those my abuela (grandmother) used to indulge us with when visiting Mexico.
Tortillas are thick and they don't rip when wet with sauce and others, that's what we enjoy the most."

incredibly poor quality

"This tortilla press has a number of problems:
1) on closing, plates are too far apart, creating VERY thick tortillas that still required hand-rolling
2) plates are not parallel, leading to tortillas of uneven thickness
3) aluminum is very brittle - metal on my press is already chipping where the lever meets the upper plate. Exacerbated by poor lever design.
This is my first and last purchase from Crate and Barrel."

good size major design flaw

"I already own a tortilla press , but got this one because I needed a bigger one. But this one had a major flaw , the hinges are quite loose, so when you press it only makes thick tortillas , because of the big gap. too bad had to return , and loose the shipping charges, but still I like Crate and Barrel , but not this product."

Nice idea but too light weight.

"I was looking for one of these for years. This one is not the best I have seen. It is a little too light weight. I have not used it yet and am sure that it will get the job done but do not think it will last years as I had hoped. Overall it is good for the price paid so will keep it and see how long it lasts."
