New and old look the same
"Six years ago we bought 8 place settings of this style, but I realized I needed 4 more place settings to have enough for all of our entertaining needs. It's nice to know that Crate and Barrel had the same style available. And the older, very well used originals still look as good as the new pieces. We enjoy the simple lines which are perfect for every day use and entertaining."

Modern and Low Key
"I like the fact that they are very modern without going over the top and looking like an abstract piece of art. The satin finish tones it down. I love silverware with wide necks. It has the appearance of being robust and strong. Nice job. I will be purchasing more very soon so that if I loose a couple, I will still have a complete set. Last time I bought glasses thinking that I had time to purchase more. Well, CB discontinued them and can't find them anywhere. I was forced to start a new set with totally different glasses."

Foster flatware

Why did I wait?
"I, like most people I know, bought a set of flatware many moons ago (in college I think). Over time, I've lost pieces and collected other random, unmatched pieces.
Recently I had a big dinner party and realized I didn't have enough forks. Then I looked at what I did have and realized how ugly and unhip it all was. So, I was on the hunt for a series that was classic, a little modern, fun but not distracting.
I settled on Foster for a few reasons:
1) So, so attractive. The series is really beautiful in person. Very clean lines, a little modern but not too modern so that they will feel weird in different settings.
2) Quality. These aren't light weight but they aren't too heavy either. The pieces feel like quality pieces in your hand and they've held up very well.
3) Versatility. I don't want two sets of flatware, so I knew I needed something that was at home having a bowl of ice cream on the couch, as well as looking elegant during a formal dinner. Foster fits that bill.
4) Availability. I love that C&B keeps their patterns active for decades. I also love that they sell pieces individually, in sets and in a full setting. I can come back at any point and add different pieces or replace lost items without completely having to change the pattern or style.
Overall, I'm very happy with this set. They clean beautifully in the dishwasher, they handle every day use without any problems and they constantly remind me of what a good investment I made.
I am actually back today ordering a few more sets for a large dinner party I have coming up. I can't wait to get them!"

glad i read reviews
"looked around for a while for a set of flatware. i read some reviews of other sets and found there were sets for sale that said you had to hand dry or there would be spots. sooo glad i read reviews. all good on this set no problems dishwashing, no spots, set is decently heavy and love the xtra spoons and the serving pieces. highly recommend this set."

Beautiful Stainless
"This stainless flatware is beautiful! It is fairly heavy, sturdy, and fits well in my partner's huge hand.( He really likes it!) I was looking for something to blend with my expensive discontinued Georg Jensen pattern and this is close to identical. I suspect it will develop scratches over time, but that will merely add to the beautiful patina, as has been the case with my Georg Jensen."

Sleek
"Despite some negative reviews on these pieces, they still appealed to me. The cutlery is beautifully crafted and feel very smooth and comfortable to hold. Very pleased so far. I have decided to hand wash and completely dry the cutlery straight away (not use dish washer). THis is in attempt to prevent any rust spots. (which were mentioned in other reviews).
At this point I would definitely recommend these, for the stunning craftmanship, if nothing else!"

Disappointed in new size
"We bought additional flatware to replace missing items from the set we bought several years ago. We were disappointed that the size of each piece is larger than the originals - not by much, but they're heavier and don't fit in the drawer neatly with the original set.
Still love the shape, but wish the original size and weight were still available."

Great weight, but scratches after every use
"We registered for Foster Flatware for our wedding. Love how heavy and sturdy they are. But after each use, the spoons and forks scratch on any surface making it look horrible on the bottom. Very disappointing. Wish we could return, but we've already used them.
I would not recommend."

Great Buy!
"I purchased the entire set for our everyday flatware. I loved the clean lines and brushed nickel finish. They have tolerated the dishwasher well. The set comes with extra teaspoons, which is always great for kids. They are not the over-sized teaspoons that are difficult for kids to use. The set also has 3 serving pieces! What a great value!! The clean lines and contemporary look would coordinate with any dinnerware. I highly recommend this set!!"

LOVE this flatware!
"I have had this style of flatware since 2004 and I LOVE it. It has held up beautifully. No water spots or discolorations, of any sort, have appeared. They are substantial in terms of size and weight, letting you know that you are not dealing with a cheap or flimsy piece of flatware! I love the simple lines and smooth feeling these pieces have, also.
