Great table

"I just got this table delivered about two weeks ago and I am very happy with it. It was not hard to assemble even by myself (though this is not recommended as the metal top is heavy). Gettting rid of the packaging was almost more difficult than assembly since I had to cut the large boxes to recycle them. The table is perfect since it more than doubles the counter space in my small kitchen, and it is actually quite comfortable to sit at because the low horizontal bars near the floor are a good height for me to rest my feet. I'm an average height woman (5'6"). The shelf is great for cutting boards and placemats. Overall, it's a comfortable, sturdy, and extremely useful table that looks good too."

Fits Our Kitchen Perfectly

""Kitchen Island" and "light and airy" are not usually terms that appear together, but that's exactly what we were looking for, and exactly what this Belmont White Work Table delivers. It's study, beautiful, well-made, and has become the center of attention in our kitchen. We bought two Spin 24" Counter Stools to go with it (which fit perfectly) and when my parents came to visit over Labor Day weekend, they immediately gravitated to the stools, leaving us no place to sit! So we went back to Crate and Barrel for two more.

I would caution people about the stainless steel surface. We have stainless steel countertops in our kitchen, which have developed a well-worn patina of scratches. So we knew what to expect. The surface on the Belmont Work Table arrives polished to a mirror finish. However, the first cup or plate you sit on the top is going to leave a scratch when you slide it an inch. This is normal. Over time, the scratches will develop into a nice brushed patina. But if that bothers you, either avoid this product, or give it an overall brushed look yourself with a coarse sponge."

Perfect for Small Breakfast Nook

"This is a beautiful and unique table. Everyone comments on how great it looks. It seats four for mealtimes and I use it for a computer station and coffee breaks. The shelf is very handy for placemats, etc. The table is easy to keep clean with a quick spritz of multi-surface spray. I orderered it in white and it gives a nice clean look to my kitchen. I reccommend it highly."

Love this table

"I bought this table as a worktable in my hobby room. I use it primarily for my family tree research. It is very sturdy, and I love the shelf because it s a great place to store the piles of papers i used to have spread out all over the floor. I also bought the matching chair and seat cushion in yellow. It looks great! And the delivery service from Crate and Barrel was outstanding. They came when scheduled and had it all assembled. They carried it up to the second floor and put it where I wanted it without a single ding or scratch. Highly recommend!"

Great table

"I got the Belmont work table in white and the matching Belmont kitchen island about four months ago and love them both. I had wanted a breakfast bar room divider for years between kitchen and family room, and this was a wonderful solution. It seemed a bit expensive for a simple table, but it would have cost much more to put in a built-in breakfast bar with countertop. Plus I can rearrange this when I want, and take it with me if I move. This is now our breakfast table, also for snacks. The stainless top is a breeze to clean. The top and the single shelf are very heavy and solid. The shelf is great for swapping the tabletop for different uses. When we are not eating, placemats and other items stow easily on the shelf, freeing up the surface for homework, games, laptop, paperwork, reading the paper. When it's mealtime, just do the reverse. We can view the family room TV from the table, and that helps reduce snack traffic in the family room. We got two of the 24" spin stools that pair well with the stainless tabletop. But we mainly use those for guests, our favorite seats at this table are two colorful scoop swivel stools that adjust in height. The one thing I would have liked is about another inch of height between the shelf and tabletop, so that a few more items that I normally keep on the table could be stowed. The height is only 3.5 inches. But I guess that might come at the cost of knee space."
