Shift Black 74 Bookcase
Versatile storage design shifts positions, shifts functions, shifts perspective from upright bookcase to horizontal media console. It shifts from positive to negative space too, with a finished, closed back square and open rectangle on each of three fixed shelves (which also means it can be used as a room divider). great, affordable bookcase!
"We bought this bookcase to use as a media stand and it has worked out perfectly. We use it on its side and our 50 inch flatscreen TV sits on top of it. We put a couple of baskets in it, as well as some stacks of books and it looks great. It was a affordable option compared to other media stands. We put our DVD player in it as well as our apple TV. Down the line, we could use it in a million other spots if we change up decor. I would consider buying another! Only downside is that because it is black, any dust on it shows."

Versatile Media/Storage
"I was happy to set-up upon delivery. We use this for our TV stand. The smaller compartments are great for cable boxes and video console. We use the larger compartments for decoration and storage. The surface is quite large, so as we upgrade our TV size, we will not need to purchase a new stand."

Good quality, sturdy
"We purchased two of these bookcases to run behind our large sectional sofa and they not only fit perfectly, but are very sturdy. The instructions were very easy to follow and there were just a few steps. It took about 20 minutes to put together the first bookcase and 15 for the second.
You do need a phillips screwdriver. You will also want two sets of hands since the big top/bottom pieces are quite heavy."

Good price, Quality Product
"I actually ordered this as a TV stand and record holder. I needed somethign with good presence on a big wall. It's perfect.
Assembly looks daunting at first but is quite easy. The boxes are very heavy but managable with two people.
I'm very happy with this purchase. May not be the nicest piece of furniture but for $200 it is sturdy and very functional!"

Great Bookcase/Sofa Table!
"We have this bookcase in the horizontal position behind our Lounge sofa. It has been hard to find a sofa table low enough for behind this sectional and though it is slightly higher than the back of the sofa, it is the perfect size and scale. It also holds all of our art books, which can be very large and hard to fit into other types of bookcases. It was easy to put together. All in all, a great contemporary looking bookcase for the money."

Get What You Pay For
"I have been looking at this bookcase for quite some time. I was aware it was self-assembly. What is so disappointing is that not all the pieces were cut correctly, so there is a gap between one of the side pieces and one of the back pieces. I know I could ask for a replacement piece, but after assembling one, I have no desire to do it all again. I have also had to color in two chips in the wood's veneer before it was fully assembled. I expect this quality of other "assemble-it-yourself" companies, but expected more from C&B. I should have known that a bargain from here would be reflected in the quality of the product."

Good Looking but The Quality is not Crate&Barrel
"4 corners are chipped out of the box but not worth returning since it's so heavy. Easily fixed with touch-up paint but still doesn't look smooth. I like the bookcase still."

"The item arrived in a timely fashion and was in 2 boxes. I had help putting it together but it was finished inside an hour. It is very sturdy, heavy and looks great in my dining room. I have it the long way and I am very glad I purchased it. It works great with my decor."

Great Buy !
"I was looking for a narrow piece of furniture that would hold a television, my printer and some books in a small spare bedroom. I had looked everywhere for something that would fit the space with no luck. I happened to see this piece on the website and went to the store to look at it. I didn't recognize it when I went in the store because they had it upright rather than horizontal. After seeing it, it was love at first sight. It was perfect and very classy looking! It was packed very well and installation was easy. I recommend the piece to any one with a small living space."

Modular and Modern
"This shelf worked out as a great modern accessory piece for my living room. It functions well for books, while also providing a great frame for knickknacks and other display items. I used this shelf at a 90-degree shift from it's pictured use. It fit perfectly, provided a wonderful visual accent, and is easy to move around if I need to. Definitely a great buy!"

Best Case ever
"I bought one of these 6 months ago for the kids media room in the basement. It is so great for the tv and their video games. Super construction and nice to have the openings in back for easy access to cords. Got 4 baskets to go in the closed square sections for closed storage. Looks beautiful in a casual room. Price is so great and this product is so solid it feels like it should cost 3 times the amount I payed. I am currently online ordering another for the cottage basement. Great,sturdy inexpensive, casual piece of furniture!!!"
