wood cracking
"I would wake up in the middle of the night from a noise that sounded like someone fired a handgun in the bedroom. It was outright scary. In the morning, I would check my headboard and see the cracks in the reclaimed wood that were created overnight.
Apparently the wood contracted and the stresses in the wood increased until it cracked, making this loud noise as it did. So far the headbord still looks fairly decent, although the cracks are quite pronounced. My only worry is that I may have not heard the last of it."

Warning - wood warps in dry climate
"Let me say that I LOVE this bed. The design is gorgeous and unique. I searched forever for a reclaimed wood bed and this is the coolest design out there. Unfortunately, I had to return mine because the reclaimed wood was not kiln-dried and after a few months in the dry Colorado climate, the wood on the headboard began to warp and bend (in places as much as an inch). This should not happen on a bed that costs this much. Fortunately, C&B has excellent customer service and they agreed to take it back. They also offered to replace it, but they couldn't guarantee that a replacement wouldn't do the same thing, so I had to opt for a return. I'm still waiting for my credit after more than a week since it was picked up, but I am hopeful it will show up soon. This bed will probably do fine in a humid climate."

Best Bed on the market!
"It finally came time for me to get a real bed instead of just the frame the mattress came with over a decade ago. I looked at several styles and was swaying toward the Dash for a few years until I was made aware of the Atwood.
Simply put, this is the best looking and designed bed I've seen. I especially like the bookshelf at the foot that doubles as a bench without feeling confining as a full height footboard (I like to have my feet hang a bit off the edge at times). It is VERY well constructed and looks like it'll last a lifetime."

Gorgeous but cracking
"My wife and I love this bed! Great style, perfect blend of modern and rustic. We have the King version and 2 matching bedside tables.The only issue we have is that we have been woken up out of a deep sleep by a loud noise on 3-4 separate occasions. Unfortunately the noise turned out to be the headboard cracking and 3 of these 4 cracks are huge. We will be contacting Customer Service to see if they can help us with this. If it wasn't for the cracking I'd give this bed 5 stars."

We love our new furniture!
"Although we were hesitant to purchase furniture without actually seeing it in person we were thrilled once we recieved it! It looks soooo much nicer in person! The mix of modern and rustic warms up the entire space!

Best piece of furniture in our home
"This bed is very solid, has a good foundation, and the quality of workmanship is superb. Its unfinished wooden effect creates a "zen" like atmosphere which will generate a soothing and relaxing ambiance in every bedroom. Because it is beautiful, well- designed, and long lasting- I know that this is worth every penny."

Love the Bed
"This is a great bed. My husband and I looked for a bed for over two years. We both have specific tatstes, and do not always agree which makes it even more difficult to agree to big purchases. The first time I saw the bed at Crate and Barrel I loved it, but wasn't sure if we wanted to pay so much for the bed. We had concerns about having enough money to also buy a great mattress and dressers. After looking for a few months and checking out the bed in store a few more times, we decided to get the bed and two side tables. At the time we moved from AZ to IN, and had the bed delivered to Indiana. Part of the bed was scratched during delivery, and we had to wait several weeks for a new part to replace it. However, now that we have the bed we are very happy with our purchase and would recommend the bed to others. It is very well built and we believe that it will last us the rest of our lives."

Two Wood Styles?
"We purchased the king bed & two large bedside chests. I was surprised that they were of two different woods and styles. The headboard is reclaimed wood but the bed’s base/bench and the chests are a more sleek modern finish. Odd and a little dissappointing but overall, I love it. Also, it was suggested that I purchase the bunky board for the king bed and it is diificult to cover with my matresses fitted sheet and is larger than the width of a king-size mattress. It is impossible to tuck a spread under it for a sleek look. I may end up just taking it off and hope that i don’t fall through. A waste of money."

Attwood bed
"Disappointed in the one we got when it was delivered. Understand it is reclaimed wood but the headboard we had was full of filler and glue holes and what looked even like termite burrow. The filler began to flake off right away onto our bedspread. We are going to send it back. I don't know if we just got unlucky with this one and as I liked the look I'll give it one more shot. I may have to drive up and see the headboard at the store before I accept a new one."

I thought the foot board was a detached bench!!!:(
"TOTALLY LOVE everything abt it - the rustic as well as the contemporary elegant look and the colors ! Its just amazing(I thought i was lucky to get it) EXCEPT the foot board! I thought its detachable and its upto you to keep it attached or not! :(
Its so not working for me because i hate to tuck in the comforter everyday! Who does that?? I never like beds with footboards!
I am so so disappointed......."

Beautiful, sturdy bed
"I recently bought the Atwood bed in king. It's a beautiful bed - very solid, gorgeous headboard. One thing to note - it is HUGE. Remember that the headboard extends well beyond the point where the mattress ends, so keep that in mind if you're thinking about how the bed will work in a smaller room. Also, the headboard is very heavy. I thought the movers were going to pass out."

This one was just right!
"We love our bed! This was the room we saved til last and thats probably because we knew what we wanted but didnt want to spend a fortune on it. We love the look of upcycled-reclaimed wood and also wanted a product that WAS NOT MADE IN CHINA. We saw a bed at Environment that we loved made from recycled wood but was too expensive (we needed night stands too) and another at Room and Board made from Walnut right here in the USA. Then while picking up a few Halloween accessories we stumbled upon this beauty..a combo of both with a very cool bench/ storage box on the end. We bought the queen and my husband and cats enjoy this bed to no end. The kitties like perching on the headboard and then playing on the bench and we love sleeping in our cozy unique bed. The only thing I wish that I had was a touch up pen for the walnut bench from the kitty scratches. Other than that, its a dream!!"
