Set of 20 Marimekko Appelsiini Paper Luncheon Napkins
Designed in 1950, Appelsiini (orange) represents one of the first patterns created by legendary Marimekko designer Maija Isola. Steeped in rich color and deliberate detail, linear rows of orange slices are abundant in graphic repetition. With painting supplies scarce in the early 1950s, Maija experimented with crayons to achieve similar color saturation. Drawing patterns on thin sheets of paper, she would dampen them on a wooden board, allowing the hues to deepen and permeate the page in a painterly effect. Appelsiini represents this unconventional method. -Pattern designed by Maija Isola; 1950 -3-ply printed tissue -Set of 20 -Made in Germany

"I ordered these napkins to go in a gift basket that I was making for a sorority raffle. When the napkins arrived, the package was opened. I was sent another pack free, but found them opened exactly the same way. Other wise they were just fine."
