Designed in 1964 by Maija Isola, the Unikko (poppy) design has been the most popular Marimekko print since its introduction. Challenging the common notion of decorative florals, Unikko broke from tradition with its creative pop art interpretation in bold, simplified pattern and bright color. Disappointing
"This bag looked so cute online. It was a little pricey but the reviews were good and I have always been satisfied with quality at Crate and Barrel. When I got it the colors looked great, but I was very disappointed with quality.It has a small zippered pocket inside but The bag is not lined so all the seams are exposed. The fabric is pretty heavy but it really needs to be lined. I probably would have kept if it was $20.00 but for $85.00 it wasn't worth it."

Great bag for iPad
"I bought this because I wanted a bag I could use for my iPad or a planner as well as my wallet. This is perfect. It fits both well and I can also use it to tote a book around as well. I love the vibrant colors and the simplicity of the bag. I've gotten complements repeatedly. I also love that I can carry it with both casual and formal attire."

Retro Classic Modern
"So thrilled that Crate and Barrel opened the Marimekko shop! I adore the Unikko pattern, and have used it to accent my home for years. I could not be happier that I can now add it to my wardorbe. The bag is a perfect silhouette, roomy and modern. The color and pattern look fantastic with so many different outfits. Can't wait to add another one to my collection!"

fun bag to have
"Though the fabric is somewhat lightweight, it's a really stunning bag to carry around. I'd like to see it someday made with a zipper across the top, instead of a magnetic snap. The snap is very strong though."
