regret this purchase
"I love the design and color of these dishes, but they chip so easily that within a week of getting them, I have 2 chipped pieces. There are only 2 adults in the house, so this is not a haphazard family situation.
This is definitely not stoneware quality. The last set of stoneware I had lasted 13 years with 1 chip and 1 broken plate."

endured wear
"We have had this dinnerware for at least a year. They are artsy and beautiful, and compliment any food. White, but not too white, and just irregular enough to feel creative, as if they were each made by hand. A couple of the plates have chipped on the edge, but we are a family of 5 with young "helpers". We do a lot of entertaining, so over-all, I would say they are durable. NIce with darker placemats, standard crate and barrel silverware and iittalla glassware."

Nice set
"I just bought 8 place-settings of these dishes. I love the look; it's simple enough for everyday and looks great with my formal crystal as well. I wish they made slightly smaller serving dishes though...the serving bowl or baker would hold far more of any one dish (aside from maybe salad) than my small family could eat in sitting. I hope they continue to add to this collection."

Pretty but problems
"I bought these dishes a few months ago. In terms of looks and functionality, I love them. However, I have broken and chipped several already which is not normal for me. Also my biggest complaint is that they show gray scratch marks from cutting on the plates and from using spoons in the bowls. They really don't look so nice anymore. The picture attached is the bottom of one bowl. It actually looks worse than the picture shows."

Marin White Dinnerware
"I absolutely love the Marin White Dinnerware. It has a unique original hand-made look to it. I purchased a service for 16 along with many of the optional serving pieces. Be aware – the “serving bowls” are huge! More like a chip bowl than a table serving bowl. I purchased the “low pasta” bowls as well and they work great for a serving dish. I’ve been looking to replace my dishes for a long time – so glad I found the Marin White Dinnerware."

Great Dishes
"Received this set as a gift. Love the handmade look, creamy white color, and antiquing on the rims. They seem to be holding up very well with our busy family of five. One dish arrived with small chip but customer service was very helpful and a replacement arrived in just a few days. Will be ordering more to add to our set."

Bowls that Roll!
"During the first week of using our new Marin dishes, my 3 year old daughter took a spill while helping to clear the table (of course). There was a loud crash and I saw the remains of a lettuce salad strewn about, but the Marin Serving Bowl managed to roll away from the accident unscathed (so did my daughter). So, needless to say, these dishes are tough and pretty at the same time - just like our daughter!"

The Incredible Dinnerware
"The Marin Dinnerware is without a doubt the most durable dinnerware I have ever owned! I have service for 12 in the green and have used it for 2 years without a chip! I recently purchased the service for 8 in white.

"Love the dishes, I combined the blue and white. The only complaint is the coffee cup is too small. I went back and got the mugs, but still wish the coffee cups were a bit bigger."

Nice dishes
"I've been looking for white dishes for quite a while and these caught my eye since they are stylish without being trendy. They look hand made with a bit of distressing on the edges, not too much though. The weight is nice and they fit in the dishwasher. Nice size mug, too, not to large since they taper towards the bottom. The color is a cool white and it looks good with other dishes to mix and match."

"Nice, romantic looking series. Love that they keep adding to this collection. Only fault is that the plates tend to chip easily. Had to replace 4 plates over the past 6 or so months. But they are not too expensive so it's worth it :)"

"I typically do not like everything to match but that is not the case with this dish set! I have only had them for 2 years but none have broken or chipped. I was a little worried because they seemed abit thin. They are still beautiful and timeless even with everyday use."

"We received this set as an early wedding present off our registry and absolutely love it!! They are elegant, but still casual, classic but still modern, simple but still special. We have received a lot of compliments on these dishes, and we thoroughly enjoy using them. So far they are holding up well and I can only hope they will continue to do so for many years to come. The matching serving bowls and platters are beautiful too! Lastly, I have to add that Crate and Barrel does a phenomenal job of packing all goods they ship!"

Best dinnerware
"I have searched and searched for dinnerware that is NOT made in China. Finally, Crate and Barrel offers this beautiful ware from Portugal. It has an earthy feel, does not chip easily, and matches any flatware or table scape. The pasta bowls are lovely as well. They are packed nicely, however one salad plate was broken and replaced quickly and easily. I LOVE Crate and Barrel!"
