The Classic Ikon series builds on the Wusthof fine cutlery tradition with thinner blades, refined ergonomic handles, and recessed bolsters that allow full sharpening to the heel. Precision forged knives feature tempered and hardened high-carbon steel blades with a long-lasting V-ground edge that's easy to sharpen. The best knives
"My husband & I bought the Ikon knife set in the walnut block for ourselves as a Christmas gift, and we have no regrets. We got a great price at Crate & Barrel online, and they were shipped and arrived here quickly (yes, we live where these knives are made, but we ordered them from C&B because the price was so much lower than we could get here in Germany).
These knives are the best I've ever handled; they have a weight and balance to them that is superior to anything I've used. And they look beautiful too. They are almost TOO sharp - I was scared to use them at first! We are very happy with our purchase, and I expect to use these knives for many years to come."

Best of the Best
"I had the Wusthof classic set and they were very nice, however the Ikon is the best. They have a weight to the handle which to me is important. They look sharp and they are sharp. I love the walnut block which I think would look wonderful in any kitchen motiff. The price was good plus I had A CB 10% coupon and free shipping, what more could you ask for. I have never been disappointed with any purchase at Crate and Barrel."

After weeks of research we met our match!
"My husband and I fancy ourselves as huge internet researchers so when it came to buying knives for our new home together, it was game on! After the initial online search we went to five different stores trying the knives on various vegetables. We cook a lot, most often with veggies so we were going back and forth between the German to Japanese knives. Finally, we got Wustof headquarters on the phone and they said the Ikon would be our best bet and to try them out. We loved the service we received from Crate and Barrel during our wedding registry services so naturally we looked here first. Much to our happiness the Ikon set was on sale and in stock unlike the other two kitchen stores in town. We absolutely could not be happier with the selection of knives in this collection and how they hold up. Not to mention how beautiful the darker wood block and sleek handles look in our modern kitchen! Take it from us, we did the leg work...these are the knives for any home."

"Can't beat these knives! We hand-wash ours the keep them nice and sharp. We love the walnut block! The darker color is really contemporary."

Good Knives, Better Deals Elsewhere
"The knives are great and met our expectations. When looking around on-line, though, there are better deals on other sites. We had a gift certificate to CB, however, so bought them here--otherwise we would have purchased them elsewhere."
