great look
"i've been looking for a nontraditional open typed book case for a while.cashed in some credit card points to get some c&b gift cards. my friend bought some identical bookcases online for cheaper, but they felt... cheap. this one is great! matches my crown molding well. i'm planning on getting another 1 so that i have one on each side of my fireplace. the only think i don't like is the cheap plastic zip tie they give u to anchor the book case to the wall. very easy to assemble."

Nice for Tight Spaces
"We have a small guest room and the 25" leaning bookcase provides a good storage space for guest towels and toiletries, books and magazines, and a few dust-catchers. The white bookcase is of sturdy quality and provides a classic clean look to the room."

Sloan Bookshelf
"We purchased this along with other Sloane pieces. We are very pleased.
At first, we had some trouble with the pieces slipping away from the wall (we have it on hard wood), but once we put some no slip stuff under the legs, we've had no trouble at all.
I've read other reviews that it chips easily. I did knick it, but it was luckilly on the bottom of one of the shelves. I'm being extra careful to make sure the tops of the shelves and the desk stays in ship shape!"

High Quality Shelves
"Shelves are very nice looking, sturdy and very easy to put together by myself (even though instructions said it would take two people). No extra tools required! Using them in my newly remodeled bathroom for towel storage etc... They look very classy!"

Functional and Versatile
"We had planned to build custom shelves on each side of the fireplace in our small living room, but when I got the idea to use these instead, we realized we would save money and can take them with us if we ever move. I was skeptical that they would look cheap once installed, but I was wrong. They look fantastic! I am so please with the overall quality, easiness to assemble, and sturdiness. Highly functional and versatile for any room."

Sturdy & Attractive
"Love this bookcase--an excellent value. It's sturdy and attractive. I didn't even need to attach it to the wall (though the hardware is included if you want to use it). Because the topmost shelf on this leaning bookcase is only 4" deep (too shallow for books), the other four shelves offer plenty of storage space. I was even able to fit my small printer on the deepest shelf (14") on the bottom."

Love it!
"I love this shelf! It's simple yet modern. I was very surprised at how easy it was to assemble. Instruction manual and tips are also very user-friendly, compared to other cheaper furniture places. Cost is high but definitely worth the price, in terms of material, instructions, and overall look. I was afraid the shelf would look awkward by itself but it's not to bad!"

Just what we wanted
"I had looked at these bookcases online many times and finally decided they could be the perfect solution for housing books and music in a new room. They are! They were relatively easy to assemble. The finish is exactly the crisp lacquered white I'd hoped for. The bookcases are sturdy and solid but the lines are clean and contemporary. Since they don't take up much floor space, they could fit into the spaces where we'd planned to use them. I love that they are not attached to the wall and can be moved to other locations if we want to rearrange furniture at some point. Great design."

Unique Bookcase
"We purchased one of these book cases and found that we had room for one more, so I ordered another and have attached the two together. We have them in our finished basement to hold trophies & misc items.
My next thought is to add a small flat screen TV and place it one one of the shelves, so that we can watch TV while working out. The book case unit was easy to assemble and appears to be well made. This is the third item we have purchased from Crate & Barrel for the basement. The other being a white console for the entertainment center."

Nice but had construction issues
"So excited to get this bookshelf. Was very impressed with the packaging of fasteners and solid construction of the pieces. HOWEVER, I discovered that the holes for the screws/washers were not aligned properly when using the wooden dowels. If I aligned with the dowels, then the screw hole was not centered. If I aligned with the screw hole, then the dowel holes were not aligned. So, I opted to remove the dowels and use the screws only. I was very frustrated and angry at what should have been a properly aligned and machined connection."

Great for small spaces
"This little bookcase holds a lot of books without being too encroaching. Just be sure to anchor it to the wall. The leaning design makes it bottom heavy (obviously) and putting a lot of heavy books on t will make it slide."

"On a recent trip to C&B I had no distinct purchase in mind upon entering the store. Roaming around the store I saw the Sloane White 18 inch bookcase. It was instantly a must-have for me. When I saw it was available in the larger size for just a little more I decided to purchase - impulse buying is not something I usually do. I love the clean lines, the white finish, and the simple yet modern look to it. To my surprise it fit in my small economy car, brought it home, and assembled fairly quickly. It looks great in my home and I LOVE the decision to get it. The only problem is deciding what I want to put on it!"

Opened up the Room.
"So happy with this purchase! We originally had a very heavy, clunky black bookcase that just weighed down the whole room. We found this one and loved how suspended it felt and light. Yet it still holds everything we needed on it. It's open, light nature really softened the feel in the room.
It also reminds me a bit of an easel, and being an artist, it just felt sleek, casual, and artsy.
An unobtrusive way to get things off the floor and bring them to eye level, without installing a bunch of shelves.
Love it."

"I bought this for our bathroom and love it. We have limited storage in our small bathroom and the vertical storage is perfect for towels, toiletries, perfumes. I also bought the glass canisters and love the combination. Easy for one person to assemble."
