Second time beautiful
"Pretty easy to assemble. The drawers were sticking to each other so I had to order another one and spend another few hours butting it together but it was perfect. I wish the shelves were completely stable. They move up and down slightly."

Pretty unique piece of furniture.
"Giving this 4 out of 5 stars because after putting the entire piece together, and getting to the very last step of putting the shelves in, they would not fit. Had to exchange and start again. My husband & I were experts of assembling this by the time we finished the second one! All in all, love this unusual piece of furniture and we have received many compliments on the new furniture set!"

Awesome!
"This is an awesome purchase. I was a bit afraid because of the smell so many reviews mentioned but the only smell I found is that new furniture smell and even that was very slight.
When I called customer service expressing my fear about the odor, they were very helpful in offering suggestions on what to do if it is in fact a problem.
The piece is solid, no cheap feeling pieces, not even the drawer bottoms. I put it together mostly by myself with a little help from my ten year old daughter. It took about three hours but I stopped several times (a snack, watching a favorite part of a movie, that sort of thing). The size and weight of the packaging was a bit intimidating but it looks a lot scarier than it is. The best part is it arrives with the door and the drawer guides already assembled."

Just what I was looking for!

"I have been searching for a piece of furniture for a couple of years to complete a guest room. Finally ran across this chifforobe. If you are considering this purchase, be aware that there is a lot of packaging if you are having it shipped. It is packed very well and arrived with no damage via freight. It weighs in excess of 200lbs so if you are wondering why the shipping is so costly, you will understand once it arrives. You will need access to some way to recycle the cardboard or a dumpster nearby as there is a lot of material to dispose of. There was a slight laquer paint smell to the piece upon first removing from the package but after a day or so it was fine.
The piece is heavy and my husband and I put it together in about two hours or less. We used a small Skil driver to complete the project. I like the cabinet portion on the left as you can arrange the shelves in different levels to accomodate various items or clothing. The drawers move smoothly and the handles are attractive.
I like the cottage styling on this piece and it goes well with the iron bed in the guest room. I was able to acquire this on Cyber Monday and saved 15% on the purchase price. It is more than I intended to spend, but I am pleased with this and will enjoy it for years to come. I hope the photos that I uploaded are of the correct size for viewing to give an idea of how the piece looks in context."

Versatile Piece
"This is a great, solid piece of furniture that can hold a ton of clothes, linens or whatever it needs to. A number of reviews noted that it had a strong smell when you pulled it out of the box. I didn't notice it as much and was not bothered by it at all."

Very versatile
"This is a great looking piece that is very versatile. We bought it to put in my daughter's bedroom and we're using it to store clothes, books and games. It's very easy to assemble, except that the printed instructions were incorrect. After talking with Customer Service, we learned that a newer version was posted online. I assembled this with a friend and all we needed was a phillips screwdriver. I would highly recommend this piece."

cottage charmer
"A must have if you're going for the cottage look, or simply want a solidly-constructed, cleanly-designed chifforobe with plenty of space. Adjustable shelves allow one to customize and drawers are big enough to accommodate lots of socks, t-shirts, and sweaters. Assembly is a bit of trick solo, but can be managed. And had to air out the lacquer smell for about a week. Definitely glad I got it as it's proven to be both practical and very easy on the eye."

Great storage and stylish
"I bought this plus two night stands and a storage bench of the same design about two years ago. I put them all together by myself with no trouble at all, and they are very sturdy. I like all of the pieces, but the chifforobe is my favorite. Of course, I store tons of clothes in it, but I use the top shelf of the left side for my DVD player. I have a thin screen TV on top, and it is very easy to plug in and hook up the DVD player from the chifforobe shelf when I want to use it. The white furniture has a nice finish and looks clean and crisp in my blue and white room."

Sturdy and capacious armoire

LOVE LOVE LOVE
"Love this piece! Very sturdy, and VERY heavy. Managed to put it together all by myself (23 y.o. female), but it was tricky, so I would recommend a second set of hands for certain parts. Also moving it assembled would be tricky because it is such a heavy, solid piece, so it may be a good idea to assemble in the same room you plan to have it. The only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 is because there is a strong chemical smell and it really does require some out-gassing. I have not yet put clothes in the drawers and have the whole thing open and still airing out. I think wiping down with a damp cloth has helped some. It's a beautiful piece with lots of room. The drawers are a good size for underwear, socks, t-shirts, etc. The adjustable shelves are great for jeans, sweatshirts, sweaters. LOVE IT! Looks wonderful with the rest of the collection"

Nice Piece of Furniture
"Arrived well packaged unlike some other places I've ordered furniture from. Easy to assemble (did this one myself) and very sturdy. Only drawback is the smell. The first few days I had to keep my windows open. The smell is diminishing now but it's still there after 4 days."

Smells
"I've had this item for over a week now and it is still out-gassing. I can't put my clothes in it because the odor is so strong. Assembly was easy--so says my husband. It is lovely, though, and looks great with the Brighton white bed."

Exceptional Quality
"First, there is a considerable amount of assembly that needs to be done--if you are short, not very strong, or not well versed in assembling furniture you will definitely need help! However, that being said, it does go together smoothly--the piece is very high quality. The finished product is beautiful and provides a great amount of storage for folded items like sweaters and t shirts, as well as ample drawer space. Just what you would expect from C & B furniture--I highly recommend this piece!"

quality and good looks
"If you're looking for white, clean, simple quality furniture, this chifforobe is the perfect piece to pair with everything. Our guest room has dark blue walls and all white furniture from a few different furniture companies. But everything goes with this piece. It's high quality at a reasonable price, and it's great for storing linens, towels, etc. Plus, it could transition to a child's room quite easily in the future. Highly recommended."

"The Brighton collection is very elegant and its New England style really stands out, especially with yellow/green colors.
I am very happy of the chifforobe in particular because it offers a lot of room and allows to tidy a variaty of clothes (socks & underwear in the drawers as well as sweathers and tops on the shelves).
It is also very solid and does not move when you open a drawer!
Finally, it is a nice pedestal for a big bed lamp or jar of flowers.
