"this hurricane lamp is very classy and much bigger than i expected.........I bought the small one along with a 3x4 pillar candle..........and put the mini 1" christmas red/white ornaments that crate & barrel sells (like the picture shows) in it..........it took 2 1/2 sets of the christmas ornaments to go in it (not only one set that the picture shows)..........i am very pleased with the quality of this item..........would make a nice gift to that special someone............"

"These are beautiful - I bought two of large and two small and they comfortably accommodate a 9 inch and a 5 inch candle respectively. More importantly the base is sturdy enough to withstand the hyperacitvity of our five cats who tend to knock things over.
Not cheap, if you buy four, as I did, but worth every penny."

"We received the large and small London Hurricanes as a wedding gift. They are made of thick glass and have a very sturdy vase. I love the sleek, modern design. These are very versatile and look great with pillar candles, but you can also add fruit, ornaments, or even us as a fish bowl. We use ours in front of the fireplace."

These are Big!!!

"I'm really happy with the quality of the product and how they look. The only thing that surprised me is just how big the large Hurricane is. Don't get me wrong, I'm happy, it's just I didn't read the description properly. They stand over a foot tall (I think) and really make a statement.
Nicely packed so no danger of damage and are a real feature on my deck furniture. They are glass but they feel that they are going to cope with a bump or two."

"I have the large hurricane that I put as a center piece on my breakfast table. It is very versatile that you can basically put anything in there and it would look nice.I always change it out and either put rocks at the bottom with a candle sitting on top or I put sand that we brought back from our honeymoon with a candle sitting on top."

"We registered for two of the large London Hurricanes and received both from a guest at our wedding. I love them not only for their sturdy structure, classic design, and superior function; I adore these pieces above all for what you choose to put inside them. These pieces are as versatile as your imagination. I put a simple white pillar candle on top of about 4 inches of white sand from our honeymoon -- I get a sweet sentimental feeling each time the candles are lit."
