Lovely Teakettle

"Absolutely love this teakettle! So pretty and I really like the wide opening at the top for cleaning out the pot. I give it 4 1/2 stars as I agree with the previous comment about the weird whistle."

Sweet & functional

"We have this in bright yellow and love it. It's fresh and fun. The kettle is easy to wipe clean and the lid removes easily."

Chantal teakettle in bright mustard

"I purchased this several months ago and we love it. I not only like the color but it is easy to use and fill through the spout without ever needing to take the lid off. The handle tends to only get warm and not overly hot like some tea kettles. The color really gave the kitchen a fresh summer feel. Great purchase for our family of coffee lovers!"

nice traditional kettle

"It's a very nice traditional kettle especially for the price. The enamel is very pretty and the handle stays quite cool. The only thing that makes me not give it 5 stars is that my old Chantal kettle had a lovely whistle (harmonica really) that was both very noticeable and pleasant to listen to. This kettle has a standard high pitched kettle whistle."

LOVE IT

"My husband is a tea aficionado. I recently bought this tea kettle to replace an older one that we had, and we couldn't be happier. Absolutely love this tea kettle."

Quality Tea Kettle

"Purchased the Red Bridge Tea Kettle and love the bright red color. Only had it for about 1-2 months, so I cannot comment on how it will hold up long term, but it currently functions well. I did not have the issues the previous reviewer did with the lid becoming too hot. I was actually impressed that the handle does not absorb too much heat - with my previous tea kettle, I had to use a pot holder to carry it safely. Overall, seems like a sound product."

Worst Cover Ever DO NOT BUY!

"It's a nice looking kettle but it is impossibe to open without hurting yourself. I tried every trick in the book but I still struggle with it. Unfortunately I am returning this item. Not worth $30...not even worth $1 if you're going to end up hurting yourself or burning your hand trying to pull that cover to open."

Response from Crate and Barrel:By Customer ServiceJanuary 30, 2012
Thank you for taking the time to write a product review. We apologize for your experience with the Chantal Red Bridge Teakettle. Please do not try to remove the lid when the kettle is hot. The lid should fit snugly and will require a gentle tug to remove it from the body of the teakettle. If you have to pull harder than that when the kettle is cool, it may be an isolated quality issue. Please contact 800.967.6696 or visit a Crate and Barrel store near you to return the teakettle. Thanks again. Your feedback is important…and appreciated.
