Just "OK"
"LOVE the look of Marin, and bought a set in both red and white (red was available around the holidays). I use them as my everyday dishes and have also found they scratch, even the white. They aren't indented scratches into the glass, but like the other reviewer said, they are grey marks that don't come out. I have to be more careful with them than I had planned. I still love setting the table and eating out of them ; I'll see what they look like after a year!"

These are the BEST...
"I purchased these six months ago when we bought our new home. I was looking for slightly rustic...not your typical everyday dishes. These are gorgeous! The plates are a great size and the pasta bowls I purchased separately are perfect for a large salad or pasta ;)
These are also holding up very well....no chips. I would like to continue adding to my set with the chip & dip and the large bowl and platter.
Honestly, you cannot go wrong with these. And I might add that when I rec'd my shipment one of the bowls didn't make it in one piece, so I called and was sent a replacement right away. Awesome customer service!!"

"First I bought the small dinner platter, then the large dinner platter, then the gravy boat, then the sugar bowel and creamer. Obviously I like them. More importantly the wife loves them which is only thing that counts! Great shipping and wrapping by C&B."

"Love this dinnerware! We were in the store shopping for a wedding from their registry. When my husband saw this dinnerware. We had been looking for dinnerware for a while for ourselves. But as my husband said, nothing has bit my butt. But this has, this is it! Since then family and friends from out of state have been giving us the side/serving dishes for gifts. (Excellence packaging for shipping, by the way!) No fuss no muss, just order and have it shipped to our house. They would be shipping our presents anyway. In fact family in IA picked out a few ideas for them selves also! That we bought for them! They had never heard of C&B as there are no C&B stores in IA. I'm so surprised, you haven't come out with, (but I'm still looking for) salt/pepper shakers to come in this set!"

Love them...
"I had watched these dishes for a while and wanted them. I love them use them as our everyday dishes and will be buying more pieces for the set. I have banged these babies against my porcelan sink and expecting a break but nothing has happend ( Knock on Wood)...so the chipping has not been my experience. I also get tons of comments on them as well. They look nice in my kitchen...Love C&B!"

Pretty but problems
"I bought these dishes a few months ago. In terms of looks and functionality, I love them. However, I have broken and chipped several already which is not normal for me. Also my biggest complaint is that they show gray scratch marks from cutting on the plates and from using spoons in the bowls. They really don't look so nice anymore. The picture attached is the bottom of one bowl. It actually looks worse than the picture shows."

"I absolutely love the Marin White Dinnerware. It has a unique original hand-made look to it. I purchased a service for 16 along with many of the optional serving pieces. Be aware – the “serving bowls” are huge! More like a chip bowl than a table serving bowl. I purchased the “low pasta” bowls as well and they work great for a serving dish. I’ve been looking to replace my dishes for a long time – so glad I found the Marin White Dinnerware."

regret this purchase
"I love the design and color of these dishes, but they chip so easily that within a week of getting them, I have 2 chipped pieces. There are only 2 adults in the house, so this is not a haphazard family situation.
This is definitely not stoneware quality. The last set of stoneware I had lasted 13 years with 1 chip and 1 broken plate."

"Love the dishes, I combined the blue and white. The only complaint is the coffee cup is too small. I went back and got the mugs, but still wish the coffee cups were a bit bigger."

endured wear
"We have had this dinnerware for at least a year. They are artsy and beautiful, and compliment any food. White, but not too white, and just irregular enough to feel creative, as if they were each made by hand. A couple of the plates have chipped on the edge, but we are a family of 5 with young "helpers". We do a lot of entertaining, so over-all, I would say they are durable. NIce with darker placemats, standard crate and barrel silverware and iittalla glassware."

Nice dishes
"I've been looking for white dishes for quite a while and these caught my eye since they are stylish without being trendy. They look hand made with a bit of distressing on the edges, not too much though. The weight is nice and they fit in the dishwasher. Nice size mug, too, not to large since they taper towards the bottom. The color is a cool white and it looks good with other dishes to mix and match."

Nice set
"I just bought 8 place-settings of these dishes. I love the look; it's simple enough for everyday and looks great with my formal crystal as well. I wish they made slightly smaller serving dishes though...the serving bowl or baker would hold far more of any one dish (aside from maybe salad) than my small family could eat in sitting. I hope they continue to add to this collection."

"Nice, romantic looking series. Love that they keep adding to this collection. Only fault is that the plates tend to chip easily. Had to replace 4 plates over the past 6 or so months. But they are not too expensive so it's worth it :)"

Could not be happier
"I typically do not like everything to match but that is not the case with this dish set! I have only had them for 2 years but none have broken or chipped. I was a little worried because they seemed abit thin. They are still beautiful and timeless even with everyday use."

So glad we registered for this set!!
"We received this set as an early wedding present off our registry and absolutely love it!! They are elegant, but still casual, classic but still modern, simple but still special. We have received a lot of compliments on these dishes, and we thoroughly enjoy using them. So far they are holding up well and I can only hope they will continue to do so for many years to come. The matching serving bowls and platters are beautiful too! Lastly, I have to add that Crate and Barrel does a phenomenal job of packing all goods they ship!"
