"Since moving into a 475 sq. foot condo, I had been looking for a piece with glass doors that is not too deep. This Paterson Cabinet fits the bill perfectly!
I had a couple of friends come over to help with the unpacking and assembly as the box it comes in is unwieldy for one person. Once out of the box, all assembly went smoothly. The adjustable dials on the bottom of the feet are an added bonus since my floors are far from level.
It holds a lot, and I am using it for books. table linens, liquor and a few decorative accessories. I think it looks best when the shelves line up with the panes on the glass door.
I'd recommend this piece! Great quality and excellent option for small spaces!
Cleaning tip: I happened to brush my bicycle tire against the door (passing through from balcony) and accidentally put a large black scuff mark on the front. Ack! I didn't want to use anything too abrasive, but just regular water did not work. I decided to try using toothpaste, and it worked like a charm!"

"I live in a 900 sq foot cottage and space is limited and this cabinet fits well anywhere and has lots of space. My partner and I assembled it in less than one hour and it was easy, even for us non construction/assembly types. Study constructions, I even have a convection oven on top of it. Handles use and abuse well. Buy it! You won’t regret it."

Excellent in its class of products
"I have assembled far too many pieces of furniture in my life, but I must say that this was one of the best designed for home assembly. The packing was also excellent and so it arrived undamaged. Other than adjusting the hinges, assembly did not take all that long and I am pleased with the look of the cabinet. It is solid and attractive. My only gripe is not about the cabinet itself, but with the fact that delivery took too long and cost too much. Afterall, it's just a big box."

"Very happy with this cabinet. I'm using it in my kitchen to store my set of Christmas dishes. My husband says that it was easy to assemble. I like the finish and the glass doors also. It matches the Paterson bench I also have in the kitchen. Happy with both."

Perfect solution
"After searching for some time, I finally found just the right piece on-line at Crate and Barrel.
It arrived in perfect condition which is fortunate because you can't tell a thing until after the delivery men have gone and you're left to unpack it. I knew this upfront but I was concerned anyway. No need, everything was very well protected and all parts were included.
My husband had the honor of assemblying the chest. It took about 1 1/2 hours and was uncomplicated. It looks beautiful and I'm completely satisfied."

"Love this product! It looks perfect just like I pictured it. Assembly was very easy to follow and I only needed help when putting on the doors. Rejuvenate your room with this cabinet
"This is a tremendous piece of furniture that could be used in any room. We removed the 1980s built-ins flanking our dated fireplace, refaced the fireplace with granite and put one of these bookcases on either side. It freshened up the room instantly and provided much more logical storage space than the built ins with their endless rows of shelves reaching to the ceiling. Stylish, sturdy and fantastic. Buy this!"

Great cabinet
"This was exactly the piece I was hunting. The size is great, holds a lot but not too big. I wanted it for the bedroom and it looks perfect. I love the panes in the glass on the doors.
My only negative would be the doors don't open flat but at a ninety degree angle. Glad I purchased this and would highly recommend."

Bad Smell, Paint Chipping
"I bought two of these cabinets almost two years ago and the horrible smell still hasn't gone away. The cabinets were even left empty to air in a cool dark room with good air flow for a solid month. Now, to top it all off, the paint is peeling off! I've never cleaned the cabinets with anything but a clean dust cloth, they've never been in direct sunlight, and never ever scrubbed. Sadly, they still don't get used because everything in them acquires that horrible smell.
Save yourself the hassle and heartache - don't get this cabinet or anything from the Patterson line of furniture. It's a horrible waste of money."

functional but annoying smell
"I bought this at least a month ago. The assembly wasn't difficult except for hanging the doors. Difficult to line them up evenly so we laid the cabinet on its side and hooked the doors up that way. I wanted it as extra storage for my pottery and wine glasses and it serves that purpose (although an extra shelf would be great). It's not a heavy piece of furniture, and it sort of looks inexpensive.
But the most important thing to know about this is the smell emitted from the piece. It still smells (after a month) even though I have left the doors ajar and added a box of baking soda inside. I have read that particle board has formaldehyde in it; and when it is painted the chemicals combine to emit a "picklish" smell which is what this piece of furniture smells like. So now I feel like I have to wash the contents before I use them.
I've read that when furniture has this odor, the pieces should be allowed to "off gas" in the garage or outdoors. It would be nice if C&B could try to do that in the factory before it is sent. Other than that a functional piece."
