Great Addition to the Dining Room
"I purchased the Patterson Cabinet because I needed a little more storage. I was really impressed with the packaging, although some assembly was required, there were no scratches and it assembled very easy and quickly! It's a great addition because it shows off some of our wedding gifts. I didn't want them to be put away and forgotten about. This cabinet shows them off well."

Excellent Cabinet
"This cabinet is exactly what I expected. Tons of space, clean lines, and wonderful color. I store my white C&B dishes in in and it looks amazing. The cabinet does require assembly, but my boyfriend was able to put it together in less than an hour. There are cord holes in the cabinet so it would be easy to add lights if we wanted. It's also nice that the shelves are adjustable. I would definitely recommend this cabinet!"

great piece
"we received this cabinet, in black, as a wedding gift. it was fairly easy to assemble, although it can be tricky to get the doors to line up exactly even. it's a beautiful addition to our kitchen/dining area, and we use it to store glasses, dishes, platters, etc."

Love this Cabinet
"Fantastic -- very solid piece of furniture and very easy to put together. I've received so many compliments on the piece. It's also a perfect size for small spaces -- I had a wall that was 35" wide and this was among the only cabinets I could find to fit in that space. Plenty big to hold all of my china and serving pieces.
The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is that it seems to scratch fairly easily."

Great first time experience

"Needed cabinet for vintage English Ironstone dishes. I considered another cabinet from another company but liked this one as well. The Paterson was less than half the price of the other cabinet, so I went with it. It arrived in a week and I spent an evening putting it together by myself. Instructions were easy to follow and I liked the way each part and each step was clearly matched (parts 6A and 6B were mixed up). The only adjustment I needed was to clean some paint from one dowel hole and to scrap some of the channel for the back piece so it could slide in easily. The alignment of the doors was off when first attached, but the adjustment instructions were clear and the doors were aligned after a couple of tries. I only needed a screwdriver and a utility knife to put it together. The quality of the cabinet is great for the price. I am very pleased with my purchase, and happy to have another item checked off as I do a complete home remodel."

So Disappointed
"First of all, I want to say that I have purchased many items from C&B and have always been very happy with the quality and condition of my purchases. However, this cabinet had scratches and permanent finger prints both on the outside and inside. I did consider returning it , but was told that if I returned it I would have to pay $89 to have them pick it up. So, I ended up keeping it. My big mistake was not taking the cabinet out of its box and inspecting it when it was initially delivered."

Faulty Door Hinges
"I was excited to receive my Patterson cabinet as it was going to showcase my wedding china. (It was just the right size for my dining room). As we were trying to adjust the door hinges (as per the instructions), the screws wore so much into the thread of the hole, that the door wouldn't hold and fell off! There was no way of securing the door to not fall again (with all my china in it) so I decided to return the cabinet.
I thank Crate and Barrel for their quick and courteous service in addressing my return. I decided not to buy another cabinet- but will continue my patronage with C&B."

"The Paterson cabinet is a great piece of furniture. It is made of hard wood and engineered wood. In other words, it is a very solid cabinet. We put it close to our black grand piano to store our piano notes and it looks stunning. The assembly was straight forward and we did not encounter complications. We have received many compliments from family and friends on the beautiful look of this cabinet. It is one of the best purchases we have made!"

I am glad I bought it but....
"This piece arrived yesterday in a huge box that weighed over 100 pounds. I read all the prior reviews discussing how easy it was to assemble. This is not an easy piece to assemble and 1 person cannot do it alone. The hinges on the glass doors were the toughest to connect to the inner panels and we had to pre-screw in the screws to create the holes, take them out and 2 people were required to hold the side glass door in place to screw it in. It looked great once assembled but it wasn't easy and it isn't a one man job."

"We are furnishing from scratch a new townhouse and have had to buy a fair amount of furniture; this piece may be my favorite. Despite its relative modest price the Paterson Cabinet shows well above its price point. It is very solidly constructed, extremely well finished and quite solid once assembled. We use it for a liquor cabinet and it handles that job very well.
Assembly was remarkably easy and required only a large Phillips-head screwdriver - just as the instructions said. While the component parts are manageable by one person, a second set of hands will be appreciated to help slide the back onto the side slots and then again to help hang the doors. The door hinges adjust the doors in two-planes so… with a bit of patience a perfect alignment can be had. A great value!"
