"We purchased both a queen and a double Vendome II bed. I like the simple design and prefer a platform bed, however, I recommend that you carefully inspect the headboard because the veneer is very thin, and every rib shows through on the headboard of the double bed. After a few months, I noticed this more, but it was too late to return the bed so we must live with it. The side slats are a very loose fit on the queen bed which makes it extremely hard to reposition the bed without it falling apart. The quality isn't quite what I expected for the price, but the general look is what I wanted."

"i think that this bed is amazing! it is very sturdy and it is nice without a footboard because it makes it look less bulky in small rooms. i would defiantly recommend this bed to anyone thinking about purchasing it. the dark color looks very rich and elegant. it was nicely priced for what you are receiving. i think that the bedside tables and dressers were a little too much considering they were almost the price of the bed. this bed is perfect for a small room because it makes it look a lot more open. overall i give it a 10 out of 10 review and anyone thinking about buying it should defiantly purchase it."

Vendome II not worth your $$

"I am deeply disappointed in the workmanship of this set. There is no dovetail joinery, and the drawers are not removable. The nightstand, when delivered, had a defective bottom drawer that would not even open. I plan to return the entire set. I do still love the styling, but for this amount of money, I expected much better in regard to quality of the product."

"From its curved headboard, to its tapered legs, and its deep exotic color this bed is a piece of art. I purchased the original vendome bed in solid maple and was very surprised of how heavy and solid this frame is.

"This bed looks great but the King size creaks too much. The slats used in the bottom of the bed sound like a futon bed."

"Have the original Vendome Queen size bed and my husband and I love it!! We've had it for about 5 years and couldn't have found anything better!! Will upgrade to a King when we upgrade our home!!"

"I had been looking for a new bed frame with fairly specific styling: clean lines, dark wood, well-made, sturdy, modern appeal. The Vendome fit all these requirements. We had it delivered and they set it up for me. When I moved, it was very easy to disassemble and put back together...and it has held up nicely. Still very sturdy. Goes with almost color scheme....our new house had this gawd-awful turquoise carpet but the bed still looked good!"

Just what we were looking for!

"We purchased the Queen bed, 2 nightstands and the high chest of drawers. The dark finish and graceful styling are just what we were looking for. We had a sleigh bed for about 20 years that was beautiful, but very bulky, and Vendome is the contemporary look we wanted. With haley lamps and Mirage bedding, this is a sleek and modern look--we love it! We now have space in our room for a reading chair, table and lamp--so nice since there are two large windows with views. We first received a very slightly damaged chest of drawers, and C&B were prompt and gracious about an exchange with which we are very happy."

Great Bed

"This bed is great. We were looking for and elegant yet modern bed that did not have a foot board. This bed is very sleek and we find it to be very sturdy. It is great not to have to worry about a box spring too.
We had some trouble with waiting for the bed to come off backorder and then it couldn't be delivered since it was damaged. Since it is still on backorder we have the damaged bed but to us the bed looks great! Definately worth the wait!"

"I was disappointed when I heard the Vendome was discontinued and then happy to hear it was beiing made again. Despite the long wait for delivery, it has been a nice addition. It's got a low profile but is not too modern, so it fits witht eh style of my house. The no-box spring mattress system is great. I only wish the side rails were a little higher off the ground so that I could store things under the bed."
