"I loved the style/looks of the Finley Pendant Lamp for use over my dining room table however the install was very difficult and once we finally got it up the base would not lay flush to the ceiling. I had to return the Finley for this reason."

Kind of a pain to install

"Learn from our mistakes: figure out how long you want the cables to be and where you want the seam to point before you get up on a ladder. The silver wire has a screw on it that can only be dragged easily in one direction (down). If you need to make the lamp hang lower (in other words, you need more wire on the outside of the faceplate), then you have to painstakingly turn the screw by hand, which takes forever. It's like, for every 50 turns, you go about half an inch. So figure out your length before touching that screw or pulling on that wire!"

Pendant Good but Customer Service Better!

"After having an electrician come and install this fixture, I was unwrapping it only to discover that the shade was stained (water stain) and discolored and even slightly warped. I'd not noticed it because it was hidden by the plastic covering which I hadn't wanted to take off until the installation was complete to avoid fingerprints/plaster dust, etc. Ironic.
Reached customer service immediately and they were wonderful. Within 15 minutes we'd come up with a plan for replacement and they were very speedy, efficient and pleasant. I was very grateful. It made a rotten discovery bearable and I was appreciative of the folks I spoke with who sounded genuinely interested in solving this problem.
One product recommendation: make sure that you have the ceiling plate installed in the right direction because how the cables come down into the fixture will determine where the seam on the shade will show up. In our case I realized that the seam (which you'll notice when the light is lit) is facing too much of our open area and when we re-install, I'll want to spin where the cords are. (This will make more sense when you go to install!)"

Great Look, Install more difficult than should be

"I love the look of this fixture. The only issue with look is the cap does not fit flush with ceiling - it really needs more than 2 screws to hold the cap piece even. Adding a 2nd bracket to form an X would probably solve the problem. I would suggest adding written instructions. It took awhile to realize that the exposed wire was for purely to hold the fixture and that it didn't need to be connected to anything since not pictured in the illustration. Also, I would suggest having some sort of demarcation on covering of the hote wire and neutral wire. With 3' of extra wire for a 9' ceiling we had to cut away the outer wire casing that enclosed all 3 wires and 'peel it' off to insure we knew which wires were which when cutting the excess. The ground wire was easily distinguishable but the neutral and hot wires identical."

Good for the money

"This light is very pretty, but I feel that there is not enough light. It does have "soft ambient light" as decribed but not enough over a kitchen table. Also, it was difficult for my husband and I (amatures) to hang the light. The cap still does not sit flush with the ceiling after many attempts. But it is pretty and worth what I paid for it."

WOW! Pleasantly Surprised

"I hate buying things on-line, but i took a chance with this fixture mostly out of necessity and price. Wow was I impressed. The fixture match the same style and size as other we found on other stores for triple the price. It brings elegance and sophistication to our dining area. Great purchase. Absolutely no regret. As for installation, took some time to get it just right. I also wish the electrical cord will not be visible, but i do acknowledge that would have change the design of the fixture. I love it!"

Rich But Affordable Mid-Century Mojo

"I own a vintage clothing boutique that I wanted to outfit like a private salon from the 1940s, with industrial age furniture and mid-century details. I originally considered lighting with Nelson bubble pendants but was put off by the cost.
I feel the Finley Pendant provides the same crisp and stylish character as the astronomically-priced Nelson, but I was able to outfit my entire store with them for the cost of a single designer fixture.
The shade is bright, textured white linen, the ceiling plate is a crisp chrome, and the cord is unobtrusive (if also a little difficult to keep "unkinked" during installation). Two 60-watt bulbs cast an intimate light perfect for reading or working, and an upholstered disc that hangs flush with the base of the pendant prevents "dazzling" by the lightbulbs when I look straight up.
I love this fixture, and would not hesitate to recommend it to anyone looking for a chic, minimalist and affordable lighting option."

Great Lamp!

"This lamp is a beautiful, modern addition to our home. I love the soft color and the linen lines that are visible when the lamp is on. We were able to install the lamp ourselves without professional installation; however, we were unable to get the lamp base to stay securely attached to the ceiling (it is about a 1/2 inch off the wall on one side, but we do have a sloped ceiling)."

"The pendant lamp was exactly as I had imagined it. The color is actually white not really off white. As with other purchasers I am not a fan of the cable running along the hanging chord. My problem was that it didn't look as nice in my choice of location as I had expected. Really my mistake."

"I hang the Finley Lamp in my dining room. It's pretty broad and gives enough lighting even with soft illumination. Its got contemporary feel and dramatic look. The off-white linen drum has some texture that gives it character. It looks equally great lit or unlit."

Stylish Pendent

"I purchased this light to hang over my dining room table. I love it! It looks so great and once I changed it from an outdated chandelier, it changed the whole look and style of the room. The light is gives off its beautiful. The pendent is white, but when on it turns a nice warm amber color. The only thing I would change about the lamp is I would of liked the wires to be hidden, and not exposed on the outside. The installation was not hard, and the price is great. It looks like I payed three times the amount I did."
