Read reviews before buying

"This pan was toward the top list of items I was really excited about when registering for our wedding. I loved the concept of a more eco friendly pan but unfortunately I am having to do the most ungreen thing I can think of- replace it only 4 months after receiving it as a gift. The non-stick coating has increasingly become non-existent and a few too many simple things like pancakes have been ruined. I have never had this problem with a nonstick pan before. In addition, the larger pan is really really heavy. I have a hard time plating food lifting the pan and spooning it onto a plate.
I really wanted to like this pan and am very upset to have to trade it in for something new but I want a non-stick pan that will last for the long haul, not 4 months.

Love it & Buying Another

"Got my first greenpan for xmas and love it so much, I need another. It has an incredible weight, nothing sticks to it so clean up is a dream, plus it can go in the dishwasher. This is far superior to the Calphalon non-sticks I am replacing."

Green pan frypan with lid

"I recently purchased 2 of these fry pans. One I purchased at the store for a bridal gift. The bride to be was so excited. She has since talked with me and thanked me for a wonderful, eco friendly pan. I then purchased one on line for a birthday present for my future son-in-law. He loves the pan and has been trying out different southern recipes in the pan.
Will perhaps add to their pot and pan stash with more of the different size pans.

Finally a High Quality Safe Frying Pan

"We bought this pan about a month ago. I am stumped by the few bad reviews. This pan is amazing, it cooks everything perfectly. The nonstick quality is superb, it cleans like a dream and dishwasher safe. We cant find any fault with it, other than it didnt come with a lid. Best of all its actually safe to cook food in. We have tried lots of expensive pans and we finally found the one. We couldnt be happier with our green pan."

Great pans

"I needed new non-stick pans as the coating on my old ones was coming off. I was intrigued by the green pans and thought them a good price. I have not been disappointed. When they say non-stick they are not kidding. I accidentally burned pasta and cheese sauce on one the other night and it still cleaned up like a dream. Plus its a nice looking pan. My only complaint is that the handle gets hot."

Green but needs Grease

"This pan has very poor non-stick qualities. The best non-stick cookware needs little or no fat to release foods. This pan is only marginally better than my regular frying pans. The do heat evenly but also have a less traditional shape with bowl shaped sides. I bought one and it will be my last."

Back to the Drawing Board

"I loved the idea of buying Green but because of the price point, I decided to try the small fry pan first. I have had it for several weeks and usually live by the "if you can't say anything nice, don't say anthing at all" rule, but because of the pricing, I thought it might be helpful. First, I was disappointed in the weight and feel. Then I was surprised at how unbalanced it was. I had to find just the right spot on the burner so the pan wouldn't fall back on its handle! I thought it was something I was doing wrong until I had someone else use it.
The cooking surface was great, really great. So my suggestion is that the manufacturer go back to the drawing board, redesign the handle, balance the weight and upgrade the outside surface. Then bring it back to those of us who buy "Green".

Greenpan disappointment

"I recently bought a wolfe induction stove and am limited to the type of pan I can use. I bought all-clad stainless steel. Before I buy a pan I need to test the bottom with a magnet -if it attracts magnet then I can use it. I found that the Greenpan was okay to use. I liked both the fry pan and large sauce pan at first. But after a couple of weeks I noticed that the paint on the outside chips very easily just by placing it on top of another. I've had these pans for only 5 mos. and they look as though I have had them for years. The nonstick covering only lasted the first few times I used it. Now I have to cover the pan with huge amounts of oil for things not to stick. Too bad because they look good at first but deceiving. Al Clad is a bit more expensive but is the better choice in performance and wear."

Love My Frypan!

"I recently purchased a new glasstop stove. Much to my dismay, my old frying pan was tipsy on the burner. I knew I needed a new one! I ordered the large GreenPan Frypan with the lid. It came quickly, well packaged, and it was beautiful! I immediately used it to fix dinner! Ah! It was nonstick DELUXE! The clean up was a dream. The lovely lid prevented splatters on my pristine glasstop burners. I am so happy with this product. Ordering from Crate&Barrel is flawless! I order all of my wedding presents this way! This is the first time I've ordered something for myself. I can tell you it won't be the last."

I'm so sad!

"I wanted so much to love this pan. It's such a wonderful idea! Great performance in a pan that's healthy for both you and the planet; perfect, right? The first thing I noticed, though, was the pristine bluish green finish has a tendency to stain... no big deal, it just looks "lived in." But then I noticed a thin film would develop on top of the coating that no normal amount of cleaning would remove. The dishwasher left the film unscathed, and I finally had to resort to the dreaded scotch brite green sponge to get it off; a process that seemed to take an unreasonable amount of elbow grease. What left me truly dismayed was the apparent stickiness the non-stick coating actually has. I found with some foods, like eggs or starchy items from potatoes to polenta, the pan behaved as if no non-stick coating was present at all. I had an entire plate of polenta ruined because, rather then pan fry to golden perfection, it stuck to the bottom of the pan like velcro. No amount of oil, heat change or magic spells could get it to release. I ended up with a soggy, oily mess rather then beautifully fried polenta. So, as much as it pains me to admit it, I had to put my greenpan to rest and opt for the calphalon contemporary nonstick pan instead. I think if you don't do very much cooking, or perhaps have a traditional nonstick pan to supplement this one, it works ok, but I think I'll wait until I start seeing professionals use the greenpan before I give it another shot."

Clean Green Pans Practically Clean Themselves!!!

"These pans are amazing! They practically clean themselves and the coating is so much better than easy-to-scratch-off teflon. They are also beautiful. These are my perfect every day pans!"

AMAZING!

"We got the "wok" (though I think it's more of a deep chef's pan) and I cook in it every night. It is amazing. The best non-stick I've ever had, plus none of the worries about poisoning yourself with non-stick cookware. And the light color of the interior of the pan makes it really easy to see how things are cooking. Everything browns beautifully. I adore this pan -- now I think I want them in all the sizes and finally get rid of all the other pans I've got lying around."

Green Pan Frypans

"Yes, these frypans are magic for cooking!!
Yet, there was one thing, that made me disappointed about the product.
The exterior (dark) finish is very sensitive - in 2 weeks after purchace, I saw scratches on the side of the pan - and charm was gone....and scratch came from the aluminum form for baking pies, which happened to be in same base cabinet with GreenPans.
I am carefull wth my kitchen pans and pots.
Now I treat GreenPans ( I bought 3!) like they are made out of glass.

GreenPan

"These pans are great. Several years ago I threw away all our old non stick and aluminum pans for health concerns. All were good pans but each posed a risk with my family health history which includes Alzheimers. Most were replaced with a good quality stainless clad set. We tried ceramic clad cast iron as replacements for the non stick pans. They were a poor substitute. We stumbled on Green Pans at the local store. After some research I felt comfortable that they didn't contain any of the Teflon compounds that I found so risky. Green pans are the best non stick pans we've ever had."

Bet fry pay ever

"I actually have the small fry pan and I love it for morning breakfasts especially omelets. I use it for everything - sauteing onions, mushrooms, sauces. It's the best and I feel like I am minimizing any harmful chemicals going into my foods that I am creating. These fry pans give the food a chance to be the shining star. Plan to get more."
