Convertible Compact Desk

This innovative compact desk is a genius at negotiating tight spaces. What looks like a 30" cabinet converts to a 55" full-size desk, making it a clever solution for studio apartments and multipurpose rooms. A quick slide of its top panel reveals hard-working amenities. When open, the top of the cabinet reveals generous storage space for a laptop, plus cubbies with removable dividers to stow paper clips, rubber bands and other smalls. Cord cutouts in back let you charge iPods, laptop and cell phones. Below are a storage drawer and one letter- and legal-size file. Integrated wood handles run the length of the drawers, which slide smoothly on ball-bearing glides. -Solid poplar, birch veneer and engineered wood -Deep ebony stain -Solid wood handles -One storage drawer, one letter-legal file drawer -Ball-bearing drawer glides -Cord management cutouts -See dimensions below

"First: delivery was a breeze. The desk is already assembled which was a relief. The sliding mechanisms are smooth and the materials look very nice. Would be great if it came in a wood finish, but the black is sharp. Overall, great buy"

"Just love it and it looks exactly like what I've been looking for, but have not ordered it yet. I would like to use it for my all in one I-Mac, therefore I need it in a similar design to accommodates a key board. I would also like to see it in another basic medium shade of wood."

Great for small spaces + lots of storage
Date: December 2, 2009
"I'm really happy with our new desk. It's got tons of storage including a nice big file cabinet at the bottom. It's very sturdy and well-constructed, although I have to say it is ever so slightly wobbly when it's opened, but nothing so major that it's an issue. It's noticeable, though. We have limited space in our apartment so this is just right since we can close it and cover up the mess.
One thing that we had a hard time finding out before we bought the desk was its size in a box and whether or not assembly is requird. We weren't sure if it would fit in our car when we tried to purchase at the store and there weren't any measurements online (when it's packaged). It definitely would not fit in a car (we have a mid-sized 4-door sedan), so we opted to have it delivered. The box is pretty big and heavy, but I was able to get it out of the box and set up by myself. And there's no assembly required--even better."

Great desk for small space
Date: November 17, 2009
"When open, this desk gives you the full functionality of a larger desk. The top glides back and forth easily, even on carpet. It is beautifully crafted and just the right size for a space that is not suitable for an open desk. I have it in front of a window in the guest room, and it looks like a chest when not in use."

Perfect!
Date: November 17, 2009
"I have bought a few furniture items in the past from C&B and they continue to be the best. This desk is a perfect size for a small room or outlet. Desk is strong and built well. The compartment is larger than expected, which again is perfect. Thanks C&B! I will continue to shop at C&B."

"The desk is great. Comfortable for city living. Just a bit over priced.
Would not pay that amount if I had to do it again.
If you could afford it, buy it!

"This is a great desk - it is a great color and seems to be built well. It is pretty heavy, and a little awkward to move around, but we like it so far."

Wonderful desk to utilize space
Date: June 20, 2009
"This desk was a purchase to solve a problem with a lack of space in our office. It has proven to be very useful and has been more then we hoped for. The space from the hide away compartments and easy flow drawers are a lot bigger then they appear. we are very happy with this desk and would recommend it to all of our friends"

Efficient Space Saver
Date: June 19, 2009
"I purchased this desk while living in a smaller apartment in NYC. After looking at desks for about a month, I found this desk which fit my space perfectly. Very solid construction, with a large amount of space. The top compartment has an opening in the back to run cables and wires out of the desk without disrupting closing the desk top which proved to be very handy.
If you have a small space, this desk is for you."

Sleek and chic
Date: June 19, 2009
"This desk is sleek, chic, and ultra-versatile. I LOVE its clean, minimalist profile, the ease with which it transforms from an unassuming cabinet into an ample work-surface, the ingenious top multi-compartment drawer for stowing my laptop and office supplies, the extra file drawer. I'm thinking about purchasing another for my guest room. Its multi-functionality and small footprint makes it an ideal piece."

Good Concept
Date: June 19, 2009
"This desk is a good concept that doesn't quite go far enough. When the desk is rolled open to extend, it would be great to have a leaf or top board to lay over the open, compartment section. This way one would have more work space and stuff would not fall into the desk."

Can't imagine a better desk for small spaces!
Date: June 1, 2009
"When my fiancee said he needed a desk in the already-cramped living room, I wasn't thrilled. I could only imagine the clutter that would follow -- we'd either get too large of a desk that would make the room feel tiny and give us no space to walk around, or we'd get a small desk without drawers or filing cabinets to keep the visible clutter to a minimum. But this item gave us a perfect compromise -- with its pull-out feature (which works seamlessly), we were able to find a desk that took up minimum floor space but offered maximum storage! One of our best purchases!"

Spacious and versitle
Date: May 27, 2009
"I searched for a long time for a convertible desk that would serve as a home office but allow for a clutter-free living room. The desk top slides out with ease (I have carpeted floors), and when pushed in, it stays put in the closed position. There is ample space in the top compartment for storing my laptop and many files and papers."

Great Desk for small spaces!
Date: May 27, 2009
"It is a small desk although rather heavy. Make sure have more than one person to help trasnport it. We have an oversize landing that we wanted to make into an office, so this has been the perfect addition. It is very easy to do your office work and close the desk up without anyone seeing your mess."
