Cheap kitchen set.....
"It looks nice, but it's not family friendly. We've had this set for about 6 months and would not recommend it.
The finish on a couple of the chairs came off within the first month. It has a very unforgiving finish - all fingerprints and smudges are a constant battle.
I gave it two stars because it is sturdy and comfortable, but we're already looking forward to finding a new home for it."

Great table
"Searched for just the right black table for our new house. Couldn't be happier with this one. C&B delivery and set up were top notch (even replaced one chair that had a nick on it). The table still looks brand new after daily use. Managed to scratch one chair (likely metal button on back of jeans) already. However, because of the finish on chairs, it really isn't that noticeable. Also purchased the latte stripe cushions and they complete the look. Table (extended) comfortably seats 6."

Perfect combination
"After searching for months for a table and chairs that would be both attractive and sturdy enough to hold up to active grandchildren we purchased the Avalon black extension table along with 4 Vintner chairs and striped cushions for the kitchen of our new vacation home. They are simply perfect! They look beautiful against our light tan walls, fit just right in the kitchen nook, and are clearly well made. So glad we didn't purchase a cheap imitation. And the delivery and set up was flawless."

Great table
"This is a good functional kitchen table. It looks great in my house. FYI, it has some worn spots on the edges of the chairs, which are to give it a rustic feel. Mine has undertones of red (which I didn't notice in the store) but I like it."

Loved it
"Knew this was the table I had been looking for as soon as I saw it. Needed a small round table for space, but also wanted to be able to extend to accommodate 6 people. When the delivery men showed up, they were very professional and slipped slippers on over their shoes. They took extreme care in assembling the table."

Great Experience
"I had a great experience with crate and barrel. The level of customer service was amazing, the follow up before and after were on point and I felt like the company was vested in my being informed. Once i received the table and chair set, I was very impressed by the quality and it fit perfect in the space I had for it. Very pleased overall with both product and customer service."

The Perfect Pedestal Table
"After insisting to my fiancé for months that I would never agree to a pedestal-style dining table, I came across this one, and in an instant, my opinion had changed. All the others seemed 'over-designed' with bases that looked either too ornate or too country/ranch, not to mention the feet all seemed narrow and flimsy.
As I'm a super hands-on kinda girl, I was really excited to put it together myself. It did take a little more time than I expected due to the massive weight of the solid wood [read: high quality], but the instructions were great, and I love the final piece.
A small warning: be careful when storing the leaf - ours got a little scratched on the underside."

A very nice looking table
"This is a lovely, simple table - I'm very happy so far. My only complaint would be the at home delivery. While the men who delivered it were very nice, they were a little careless with the assembly and ended up stripping the screw heads when attaching the top to the base. Not that I ever plan on taking the thing apart, I just know from assembling quite a few pieces of Crate and Barrel furniture that you should not over-tighten the screws. Hopefully this won't become an issue in the future."

Beautiful Table!
"I have a small house so I love the size for my little formal dining area! It's getting harder to find black furniture these days so I'm happy about rich black color. Especially appreciate the simplicity of design and smooth black finish of the legs; just wish the top was smooth, also, because it kind-of looks like painted plywood -- too grainy. Other than that, am happy with the proportions and love that it has an extra leaf to extend the length into an oval for more seating."

Attractive Table
"This Avalon table is quite lovely. We purchased it to be a relaxing place for our staff to sit at during work breaks and read, relax or snack. We haven't purchased chairs for it as yet, because we aren't sure of the "look" we want for this piece: i.e. traditional table and matching chairs or "fun" contrasting chairs to go with the sleek black table. However, one unsettling thing we have discovered about the table is that the black surface shows fingerprints and needs to be wiped constantly during the day. This is an unexpected feature and if we have to cover the table with a cloth, then we've lost the whole "fun" look we were after for this area of our office. We're currently looking for runners to crisscross the table and still leave some black surface visible. All in all, the table is still lovely. And a final word about the delivery team that brought it...they were quick, professional and very nice."

Great table
"I bought this table online after seeing the white version in the store, and was a little nervous. (C&B has such great customer service so I wasn't really THAT nervous) But when it arrived I was very pleased. It's very sturdy and the finish is very nice. It has a clean look and fits well in my decor, which I consider to be a soft contemporary. I'm not sure if I can put glasses on it so I use coasters or napkins underneath them so I won't get rings."

"I was very pleased with th service at my house- two very helpful men brought the table in and set it up exactly where I wanted it. They took out the extension and showed me how to work it! Very pleased, table is just right for my space and looks even nicer than the catalog."

Beautiful!
"We purchased this table for our eat-in kitchen and we love it! With the extention in it perfectly fills the space. We have dark hardwood flooring and the table looks amazing with it. Very easy to care for - dust does show easily since the table is very dark, but quick swipe with a microfiber cloth and it does the trick! We highly recommend this table and chairs!"

Gorgeous Table Well Crafted
"This table is absolutely beautiful. It is very well made and will stand the test of time (and kids)! It has a thin glaze of some kind to protect the table top. It does not easily scratch or scuff. I love how easy it is to add and remove the leaf. The leaf locks in place with 4 clamps. Everyone that comes to our home says how beautiful the table is. I am so glad I made this purchase! I also purchased the Aspen chairs and cushions. They go great with this table."

Avalon Black Dining Set
"Love it! Prompt delivery even when it was supposedly backordered. The chairs come 2 in a box. I was impressed with how well everything was packed. We had to put the legs on the base of the table. One of the legs had a defective screw, so I called Customer Service. NO Problem... a replacement leg was in the mail that day. I was very pleased with their Customer Service Department. The dining set is well made and attractive. Just exactly what I was looking for!"

"The chairs wobble. Nearly all of the chairs have at least one leg that does not touch the ground. The table is nice enough, though I wish the extension was a butterfly extension so that I would not have to find a place to store it."

Nice product!
"Love this table! It is the perfect shape and size and just what I needed to complete my kitchen/dining/family room remodel. It seems to be holding up to my messy family of kids from ages 2-22! My only gripe is that the styrofoam packing material was not recycleable! I threw out 5 bags of trash from the packing of this table and this doesn't include the cardboard that I recycled! Yikes!"
