We like this, but not easy to assemble
Date: November 14, 2009
"We are happy with the end result - it is sturdy and attractive. However, you should be prepared - the assembly instructions are not very good (they have a left/right mixup at one point). I've put together a moderate number of these, and am mechanically inclined, but I still find it frustrating. The people who write the instructions need to put together some units, then rewrite the instructions.
Anyway, you can get through it. If you glue the dowels in place (they don't tell you to do this, probably to prevent people getting more upset), be careful. You should only glue them in place right when they are needed, otherwise small mistakes in the instructions will cause conflicts later on.

Great Product, Puzzling Assembly
Date: August 1, 2009
"I bought the white one for the foyer in my old house. It is ideal. The mirror is perfectly placed & substantial. The legs come with their own built-in and adjustable casters. The design is simple and elegant. It is easy to take care of, and yes, my cats love the bench cushion. I don't know why, but it is their favorite place to lounge.
The big problem was assembly. We did not find any instructions with the back panel. And the back panel attachment to the bench presented the big puzzle. I called, and customer service was good, but they didn't know the solution either, referred me to the web site to print off the instructions.
I knew from other reviews there was some puzzle with assembly. I want to tell you here the solution. The bench comes with its own legs because it is also sold as a seperate item.
Do not put the back legs on the bench if you purchase this whole piece because the back panel itself has legs. Put the bench together, leave the back legs off, and then attach back panel.
Very simple! But C&B needs to clue us non-engineering types in on this."

Classy Function
Date: June 27, 2009
"Everything you need before leaving the house in a compact design. The mirror even reflects artwork on the adjacent wall to make the space look larger. The bench holds jackets, etc even out of season. A great funtional piece. Fairly easy to assemble; just read slowly."

"I was looking for a piece to place between my front door and the entrance to my dining room, so, it had to be classic yet functional. This piece has both. Good quality, nice looking. It also adds another seat in my dining room when needed! Love this piece."

Great product, once it's together
Date: May 27, 2009
"The bench looks great and is very sturdy. The hooks are heavy duty and should last a lifetime. The mirror is an actual mirror that won't get scratched like that silvery material that some cheap mirrors use. The adjustments on the feet actually work so that you can place the bench on a less than even surface and not having it wobbling around.
The main reason this product does not get 5 stars is because of the assembly instructions, which were not particularly detailed and included at least two flat-out errors. I have an engineering degree and am pretty good with "spatial" analysis so I was able to notice that some of the panel orientations shown in the instruction figures were not the correct way to assemble the bench. My mom and fiance are both really smart women, and I love them dearly, but neither would have been able to square what was shown in these instructions with the actual panels they would have been trying to assemble.
A final nit-pick. The kit and the instructions do not include any glue or references thereto. I used my own wood glue on all the dowel joints and on some of the seams. I question whether the bench would survive more than one house/apartment move before starting to get rickety without using glue during assembly."
