"I absolutely love these dishes. I bought my first set of 8 in 1988 and I still have them. I've only broken 1 dinner plate since then and continue to order pieces as I need to. I now have a set of 12. These are timeless, classic and very durable. My friends have asked me where I've gotten them.

"I purchased these dishes 10 years ago and they still look as good as they did the day I unpacked them. Very versatile and durable. I use this set as my everyday dishes and haven't broken one yet. I receive compliments from dinner guests all the time. Several of my friends have ordered them since. I was very sad when I had heard these dishes were to be discontinued. Very happy to have found more in the outlet store. Ordered more for Christmas to make a 12 piece place setting. PLEASE DON'T DISCONTINUE!!!

Durable, but color a dirty white

"I bought my first set 6-7 years ago and loved it! So I decided add to my set and recently purchased 4 boxes of the 16 piece set. Unfortunately, the color of the Cafeware II is not bright white, as pictured, and so my sets don't match. The Cafeware II has a dirty white tone and can not be set on a white tablecloth. The quality in general looks to be less than the original ones I purchased.
I was very disappointed as my family brought them to my new home abroad (all the way in Switzerland!) and feel that it's more of a hassle than it's worth to return them. So I'm stuck with something I'm not quite happy with.
Would have been helpful if Crate & Barrel would have said that there was a color variation with the Cafeware line and if this continues to be produced, I hope the color is corrected in manufacturing. If so, I'll certainly purchase this again."

"I purchased my first set prior to 2004, in N.VA., fell in love with it, wanted more, only to find cafewareII was no longer available. I moved to GA, visited the Outlet and there they were, I increased my settings. Now 8 years later the White is still White.

"Maybe it is just me. Since I am not looking for a daily use dinnerware, this set is not for me at all. The color does not look clean and the quality looks coarse. Well, I have to return it. Next time when I purchase online, I will be extra careful."

"I previously owned a different set of whiteware from Crate and Barrel and the plates and bowls constantly chipped. This set of dishes is very sturdy; after a couple of years of use they are still good as new. The style goes with any decor and is perfect for casual dining."

"Purchased the starter set about 7 years ago, received a 2nd set as a gift to bring us up to a setting for 8 abt 4 years ago and am still in love with the set. I have a 15 yo, 7 yo and 5 yo who use these dishes every day. Considering even the 5 yo has "washed" his own dish and we haven't had a broken dish, chipping or staining, I would say with confidence that these are a durable every day set. I periodically check the outlet to be sure they are still available as I am wanting to increase my set soon and will be purchasing a set for my daughter who will be hitting the college move out age soon."

"My mom gave me two sets of these when I moved into my first of-campus apartment 12 years ago. After 12 years' daily use, they are still perfect - clean, durable, simple without being plain, and great to dress up or down as the occasion requires. We've broken one dinner plate over the years and I've often wished I had more settings. So when my husband and I registered for wedding gifts this summer, we hoped to find them at Crate and Barrel. I was disappointed not to find them, but we investigated other options for everyday china at a number of shops... nothing inspired us to give these up. Imagine my delight to discover that the C&B Outlet still carries them - and hopefully always will! I can't recommend these highly enough..."

"I purchased these dishes approximately 20 years ago and recently purchased a service for 16 for my son and his wife. I have had them since my grandson was a toddler who is now 22! I have only had one broken dinner plate in all those years. My children have had many sets in their 15 years of marriage and wondered why mine were so durable, so decided to purchase a set for their anniversary. They were thrilled at the versatility and durability!

"We recently remodeled our kitchen and needed to replace our old chipped blue dishes. I purchased 8 Cafeware cereal bowls separately many years ago and they held up without any chips or cracks unlike our main dish set. I decided I liked the Cafeware bowls so much that I purchased two 16 piece sets to use as our every day dishes. The design is simple and attractive. These could easily be used for more casual guest dinners. These dishes are heavy and sturdy feeling. I am very happy with my purchase. Also, great customer service from Crate & Barrel."

"I purchased this dinnerware set nine years ago. At the time my children were 12, 14, and 15. Needless to say, none of them were eager or careful when washing dishes, and loading or unloading the dishwasher. I still have all 12 place settings, and not a single one has a chip or crack! The sizes are generous, and the rolled edge keeps sauces and dressings on the plate instead of the table. I'm so sad to see this product discontinued. My son just moved into his house, so I told him he better order his NOW before they're all gone. This really was a "Best Buy"!"
