Golden Care® Outdoor Teak Cleaner/Protector
Clean, protect and maintain the finish of teak outdoor furniture with these special preparations. Designed to help brighten and restore weathered wood, the cleaner maintains teak, eucalyptus and other hardwood outdoor furniture. Water-based cleaner can be used alone or together with Golden Care® Teak Protector. Water-based Teak Protector is easy to use, and with annual application will maintain the color of our teak collections and other blonde wood furniture. -Teak Cleaner is water-based and non-hazardous -Teak Protector contains water, pigment and other ingredients -Sponge or cloth applicators included -Made in The Netherlands

"We've used this product for many years with great success. Last year we redid our outdoor teak table and chairs. We ran out of product in the middle of application and opened a new container. We finished the set and within an hour we noticed the difference from the older product to the new stuff. It was dry, discolored and streaking. We contacted the company. They asked for photos and code stamp verification off of both containers. We took multiple pics and sent them with the code stamps in to the company. They finally got back to us and they said , sorry we won't replace it. That happens sometimes. UNACCEPTABLE. It really is bizarre how different the product is from two years ago. DO NOT BUY!"

Teak Wood Protector
"My husband and I had just about decided to give our teak furniture away because of its very tired and used appearance. My husband said he's like to try the Teak Cleaner and Protector on one chair first. We were very impressed! It's a dark brown because we used the Hardwood Protector which is slightly darker than the Teak Protector but it looks so finished and almost new. We purchased cushions with the money we saved and are now in our third year of using our "new" pool furniture which we love."

Unattractive Color
"I purchased the Teak Protector in the hopes of restoring the slightly weathered appearance of my C&B Trovata teak outdoor table and chair set. I tested it on the interior of one of the table legs and found the color a bit strange, but thought it might mellow after a few days. So I, being the impatient person that I am, decided to apply the Protector to the entire table. It is now an unattractive orange-ish color--certainly not the "light-brown of teak" as the product description suggests--and the color has not mellowed, even after six months. I suppose one could say that it does indeed "freshen" the appearance of the table, but only because it alters the slightly-silvered color to something brighter. I wish I'd simply left the table in its naturally weathered state--it would have been much better than this new, slightly garish color. I would *not* recommend using this product if you're interested in maintaining a natural look to your teak furniture."

Thank you for taking the time to write a product review. We are sorry to hear that you did not have a good experience with the Teak Protector. We want to let you know that a thin layer of protector is all that is needed to maintain the natural teak color. The more thickly the protector is applied, the more dramatic the color change will be. The color will mellow but it will take more time. If you’re up for the challenge, the color can be returned to something closely resembling the original by sanding off the protector and reapplying a light coat. Thanks again for writing a review. Why didn't I know about this product earlier?
"Over the years I tried to keep my teak furniture looking clean and new. Not knowing better, I used wrong techniques (pressure washing) and products (oil stains) that left the furniture looking dark and dirty over time. I had finally given up, stripped off all the stain I could, and left the furniture alone. That resulted in gray wood with black (I assume) mildew spots that rubbed off on your hands. Happily, this cleaner took the wood back to new! If I had only used this product to start with, I would have saved myself a lot ot trouble. The instructions didn't say to, but I found it easier and more effective to keep the furniture wet during the scrubbing step. It took some elbow grease this first time, but continued use will be much easier."
