Great gift!
"We recieved this as a wedding gift. At first I didn't really know what to use it for, but once I read the reviews, I realized how versatile of a piece it is. It's a very heavy glass and the stripes are deeply etched in. It's something that is too nice to put away in a cabinet until you need it. We will use this as a serving bowl for company and as a large fruit bowl or decoration piece when not being used for food. I feel like this would be perfect for a layered dessert (like strawberry shortcake & the dessert made of layers of pudding, oreos and cool whip). Awesome gift for anyone, but especially newlyweds who don't necessarily have serving pieces."

"I love, love, love this bowl! We got it as a wedding present with the intention of using it for seven layer salads, but it's just too pretty to put away! Right now, it's sitting in our kitchen with some fake lemons in it, and I smile every time I see it. Really heavy, love the lines of the bowl, and I really love the "swirl.""

unusual and beautiful

LOVE IT!
"I am in love with this gift! I got it as a present at my wedding shower a few months ago and EVERYONE loved it! It was a favorite of everybody's that day. "We registered for the Scala bowl for our wedding and received the bowl as an engagement gift. Our wedding is about 1 month away and I haven't had the chance to use the bowl yet, but every time I see it in the store I imagine what a great piece it will be. Hit of the shower!
"I just had my first wedding shower...full of Crate and Barrel gifts...and this was by far my favorite and the most popular! "I could not find a single functional, beautiful salad bowl reasonably priced in all of Reno. Thank goodness for Crate and Barrel. I had many compliments on it at Christmas Eve dinner. It easily holds salad for 12+ people. It is VERY heavy though, for passing around the table...its only downside."
